For the second time in franchise history and first time as hosts, the Toronto Raptors will play on Christmas Day. Their opponent is Atlantic Division foes the Boston Celtics. It’s the first game on the slate of the NBA Holiday games.
It is the second meeting between the clubs this season with the Celtics winning 112-106 on October 25th. Toronto brings a 34 game home win streak against their own division.
Last season, the teams played four times with each team taking their home games. The Celtics hold the all-time record having bested the Raptors in 55 of their 94 matches

The Celtics enter the match expecting to get back Gordon Hayward who has been in and out of the line up this season battling various injuries.
However, the depth on Boston has allowed them to continue winning without missing a beat who arrive sitting in second in the East.

In their last game, the Celtics easily defeated the Hornets 119-93. Jayson Tatum led the way with 39 points and 12 rebounds.
Kemba Walker produced 23 points while Jaylen Brown chipped in 16 points and nine rebounds. Grant Williams (12) was the only other Celtic to register double-digit scoring.
Carsen Edwards is questionable with a right quadriceps contusion while Vincent Poirier (finger) Marcus Smart (eye) and Robert Williams III (hip) are all out.
Toronto Raptors
It’s been a dramatic period for the Raptors who lost three core players to injury in the Detroit match, battled back from being down 30 points to the Mavericks on Sunday to win and pushed the Pacers to overtime before succumbing on Monday night.
The timing of losing Pascal (groin), Norman Powell (shoulder) and Marc Gasol (hamstring) for an indefinite period is not ideal given the schedule features four playoff seeds in the next five games.
Still, this is a scrappy crew as the win over the Mavericks and fight versus the Pacers proved.
In the loss to the Pacers, Eastern Conference Player of the Week Kyle Lowry led the way with 30 points, nine assists and six rebounds.
The other members of the core also stepped up with Fred VanVleet (21 points, 11 assists) and OG Anunoby (15 points, 12 rebounds) delivering double-doubles while Serge Ibaka added 23 points and nine rebounds.
Aside from the trio, Matt Thomas (broken finger) is also out.
