Free Boston Celtics vs. Chicago Bulls NBA Prediction:
Saturday, January 4th, the Boston Celtics face the Chicago Bulls in the clubs first meeting of the season.
Last season, the teams played three times with Boston winning two of the three matches. The Celtics hold the all-time record having bested the Bulls in 124 of their 228 matches
Boston Celtics
Playing a back to back set the Celtics arrives in Chicago after hosting the Hawks on Friday night. As of this writing, the game between the Hawks and Celtics has yet to be played.

Earlier in the week the Celtics played the Hornets and dismantled them with ease winning 109-92. Although the Bulls theoretically is another easy match Boston will need to be dialed in since the Bulls have played better recently.
Most importantly, the Bulls are deep in the frontcourt which is the one area the Celtics aren’t.
In the win over the Hornets, Gordon Hayward delivered a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Jayson Tatum dropped 24 points to lead all scorers while Kemba chipped in with 22. Enes Kanter also produced a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds off the bench.
On the season, Kemba Walker is the team leader in scoring (22.5) and assists (5.2). Jayson Tatum tops the rebound (7.0) and steals (1.4) categories. Jaylen Brown leads field goal percent (51.8%) and Daniel Theis is tops in the block (1.8) category.
Jaylen Brown missed the Hornets game due to illness. As of this posting, he is unlikely to play Friday. Javonte Green is questionable with a sore hip. Kemba Walker will miss the Bulls game due to the flu. All three are question marks for Saturday depending on how they feel with another day of rest.
Robert Williams III (bone edema – hip) and Vincent Poirier (surgery to repair his fractured right pinky finger) both remain out with return dates projected some time in January.
Chicago Bulls
It seemed like the Bulls had turned a corner winning three of four but have since lost games to the Bucks and Jazz. The common trend for their efforts in December was the Bulls beat the lower tier teams and were competitive but lost to the elite clubs. Which in fairness is about where they should be.
They last played Thursday in the loss to the Jazz and will have the rest advantage entering Saturday. In the loss, Wendell Carter Jr. registered a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds. Zach LaVine led the team with 26 points and Lauri Markkanen chipped in with 18 points and eight rebounds.
On the season, LaVine is the team leader in scoring (23.4), Tomas Satoransky tops the ladder for assists (5.3) and Kris Dunn offers 2.0 steals per game. Wendell Carter Jr. tops the rebounding (9.9), field goal percent (54.9) and blocks (0.9) categories.
Ryan Arcidiacono (elbow) missed the last game while Cristiano Felicio (illness) had missed the last three and both are questionable for Saturday.
Chandler Hutchison (right shoulder sprain) is out with no definitive return date. Otto Porter (foot) was reassessed and won’t be back until mid-February. Max Strus (torn ACL) is out for the season.
NBA Betting Trends:
- The Celtics are 8-2 ATS in their last 10
- The Celtics are 8-2 in last 10 head to head
- Over Under is 3-7 in team’s last 10 head to head matchup
Free Boston Celtics vs. Chicago Bulls NBA Prediction:
This could be a trap game for the Celtics especially since they play the night prior. The Bulls have size upfront which is an advantage and this could be a game they look at as making a statement.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Odds are off as of posting, score prediction below
The score below is predicated on the unknown of Kemba Walker and Jaylen Brown playing — if they are both back Saturday I’d lean to the Celtics winning but still think this could be a close match.
