It took a real team effort for the Hawks to make it past the Toronto Raptors last time out, as all 5 starters for the Hawks registered at least 10 points. Clint Capela really looks to be getting going in recent time which is important for the Hawks, as they already have such a solid back-court that having a strong interior presence will help open even more up for this offense.
The Hawks do remain a little beat up in terms of injuries, though, with Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kris Dunn and De’Andre Hunter all remaining sidelined with various injuries.
Dallas Mavericks
It appears as though the Mavericks have stopped the bleeding a bit winning 3 of their last 4, but many people will be unconvinced given the poor competition those wins came against. One of those wins was against this Hawks team as they were able to down the Hawks 122-116 in their February 4th matchup.
The Mavericks last game was a victory over a very poor Timberwolves team who they only beat by 5 points in one of the rare times we saw Kristaps put up better numbers than Luka Doncic registering an impressive double-double.
It really looks like it is now or never for this Mavs team to make a run, as they are one of the few teams to have a clean injury report, so this team does not have any excuses not to at least make the playoffs given the talent they have.
A lot of whether or not that run could happen is going to come down to the continued excellent play of Luka Doncic and the health of Kristaps Porzingis, as we have seen just how great he can be if he is able to stay on the court for any extended period of time.
