NASCAR Handicapping
The NASCAR Cup Series rolls into Dover Motor Speedway this weekend for the 2026 NASCAR All-Star Race with $1 million waiting for the winner under the lights at the “Monster Mile.”
This marks the first time Dover has hosted the All-Star festivities after North Wilkesboro handled the event from 2023 through 2025.
Christopher Bell enters as the defending All-Star Race winner, while Denny Hamlin returns to Dover after winning the most recent points race at this track.
Meanwhile, Tyler Reddick continues putting together one of the strongest seasons in the garage with five victories already in 2026.
Dover Betting Strategy & NASCAR Edge
Dover is one of those tracks where rhythm matters almost as much as raw speed.
The concrete surface punishes mistakes quickly, especially once drivers start dealing with heavy tire falloff and long green-flag runs. That’s why experienced Dover drivers tend to separate themselves once the race settles in.
Track position also becomes critical because dirty air can make passing difficult after the field spreads out.
Why the NASCAR All-Star Race Creates Betting Value
The All-Star format changes the betting board compared to normal Cup Series races.
Without stage points or playoff pressure hanging over the field, drivers become much more aggressive chasing the million-dollar prize. Crew chiefs also gamble more on pit strategy because there’s nothing to protect late in the race.
That usually creates sharper live betting opportunities once cautions begin shaking up the order.
Last Year
Last year’s NASCAR All-Star Race took place at North Wilkesboro Speedway, and it was Christopher Bell finally breaking through for his first career All-Star victory.
The race completely flipped late after Bell elected to pit for two tires during a caution while Joey Logano stayed out on older rubber.
That strategy dropped Bell back to sixth for the restart, but the fresh tires quickly became the difference over the closing laps.
How Bell Took Control Late
Bell charged back through the field almost immediately after the restart and moved into second place within just a few laps.
From there, he tracked down Logano and completed the winning pass on Lap 241 of 250.
The move delivered Toyota its first NASCAR All-Star Race victory since Kyle Busch won the event back in 2017.
Logano once again dominated huge portions of the race after leading 139 laps, but late tire strategy ultimately cost him another All-Star victory.
Ross Chastain finished second, followed by Alex Bowman, Chase Elliott, and William Byron.
Past Winners – NASCAR All-Star Race (Last 10 Races)
Before locking in your card this weekend, it helps to know which drivers and organizations consistently show up in this event.
History doesn’t always repeat itself, but strong teams usually find a way back near the front in exhibition races like this.
- 2025 – #20 Christopher Bell – Joe Gibbs Racing
- 2024 – #22 Joey Logano – Team Penske
- 2023 – #5 Kyle Larson – Hendrick Motorsports
- 2022 – #12 Ryan Blaney – Team Penske
- 2021 – #5 Kyle Larson – Hendrick Motorsports
- 2020 – #9 Chase Elliott – Hendrick Motorsports
- 2019 – #42 Kyle Larson – Chip Ganassi Racing

NASCAR All-Star Race Free Picks
2026 NASCAR All-Star Race Race Odds: Denny Hamlin +370
Hamlin owns three career victories at Dover along with 17 top-10 finishes at this track.
After a frustrating run at Watkins Glen last week, this feels like a strong bounce-back spot on one of his better tracks.
Our 2026 NASCAR All-Star Race Free Pick card is leaning toward proven Dover experience because sometimes chalk really is the sharp move.
2026 NASCAR All-Star Race Race Odds: Chase Elliott +650
Elliott also enters this race looking to rebound after a disappointing Watkins Glen performance.
He already owns an All-Star Race victory and continues producing strong results at Dover with multiple top-five finishes throughout his career.
Top-10s and matchup bets also become attractive angles this week because of how consistent Elliott tends to run at concrete tracks.
2026 NASCAR All-Star Race Race Odds: Ty Gibbs +1200
Gibbs quietly feels like one of the more dangerous drivers on the board this weekend.
He already owns two top-10 finishes in only three Cup Series starts at Dover and continues showing improvement on high tire-wear tracks.
NASCAR Odds: Tyler Reddick +1400
Dover hasn’t historically been Reddick’s strongest track, but it’s impossible to ignore the season he’s putting together.
After playing things conservatively at Watkins Glen, expect Reddick to attack much more aggressively this weekend.
NASCAR Odds: Joey Logano +2200
Logano has basically owned this event the last two seasons despite only cashing one victory.
After leading 139 laps last year before losing late, there should be plenty of motivation inside the No. 22 camp this weekend.
Before betting a big-name favorite, make sure track history and current form actually justify the number.
That’s part of what shaped our 2026 NASCAR All-Star Race Free Pick card this week.

How to Bet NASCAR Concrete Tracks Like a Sharp Bettor
Dover races differently than most intermediate tracks on the schedule.
The concrete surface eats up tires quickly, which puts extra pressure on long-run speed, pit strategy, and drivers capable of managing tire wear without giving away track position.
That’s why experienced Dover drivers usually deserve extra respect on betting cards.
NASCAR Betting Markets That Actually Matter
Outrights still attract most of the attention, but matchup bets and top-10 markets often create stronger long-term value.
Drivers with elite long-run speed can still produce profitable results even if late cautions prevent them from winning outright.
Live betting also becomes valuable once teams start adjusting to tire falloff during the race.
The goal isn’t trying to predict every lap perfectly. It’s building multiple ways to cash once the race settles in.
