The Toronto Blue Jays will be in for a bit of a shock this Monday, as they travel to Globe Life Field in Arlington Texas for this matchup with the Rangers in front of what is expected to be a sold out crowd.
Toronto Blue Jays
The season has barely started, but having actually watched all three of the Blue Jays first 3 games against the Yankees I can honestly say that something seems different, as this team appears to be put together extremely well.
The batting lineup, although it might not shatter records this year due to the age of the key players like Vlad and Bichette, has a ton of ability from top to bottom with guys like Rowdy Tellez and Randal Grichuk batting towards the very bottom of the order.
Those guys both have a ton of power and the only weak spot in terms of hitting is at the catchers spot with Danny Jansen being a .225 hitter in a good year, but for what he lacks at the plate he makes up for with his defensive catching ability.
The pitching also seems to be on point with each of the starters doing a decent enough job with the bullpen looking fantastic against what is likely to be one of the best batting lineups in the league with the Yankees.
Texas Rangers
The Rangers on the other hand have not gotten off to a great start to the season losing their opening two games against the Royals, but pulling the last game back by a score of 7-3 to avoid the sweep.
Their pitching during that series was not great to say the least, as the Rangers gave up 28 total runs against a Royals batting lineup that is not awful, but not loaded with crushers either, so this very well could be a great opportunities for these Jays bats.
Mike Foltynewicz was brought in from the Atlanta Braves and he was only able to pitch in one game last year, but he is another guy we know can be good, and by all reports he was good, so it will be interesting to see if he can have a bounce back year and provide the veteran presence this Rangers team desperately needs.
