Things are messy for the Jays right now but they are in the perfect spot to try and right the ship.
Toronto started the series with an extra inning wins on Thursday night and they will need to do some more damage over the weekend if they are going to try and save their manager’s role with the club.
I know it is early but that is the scuttlebutt.
Toronto Blue Jays
Suffice it to say things have not been going smoothly for the Jays this season.
The offense has been sporadic, failing a starting staff that was pretty awesome before getting roughed up by Tampa to start the week.
It was supposed to be the other way around and they are doing anything they can think of to get things going in the right direction. They do not have to be great to fatten up on Minnesota over the weekend.
Happ has been brilliant for the Jays this season until his last outing against Tampa, when he didn’t even pitch three innings. It was a quick hook but justified as they were hitting him all over the yard.
A veteran there is no reason why he can’t come back strong against a far from fearsome Twins lineup. With the teams playing extra innings in the series opener they are definitely going to need him to pitch deeper into this contest.
Heading into Friday’s action the Twins have the fewest wins in the AL and it is not even close.
To give you an idea of how things are they are being led in homers by an unexpectedly strong performance from import slugger Byung Ho Park and Kevin Jepsen, failed replacement for injured closer Glen Perkins, leads the team in wins.
The only thing this team has going for it right now is that the only place they can go is up.
This will be rookie Pat Dean’s first MLB start. I know the Jays lineup is struggling this year but when you put an inexperienced lefty on the hill you could be courting disaster.
He is a control guy too and the guys who have been giving Toronto the most trouble are those who can make them swing and miss. It is hard to have a lot of confidence in Dean heading into this one.

Free Toronto Blue Jays vs. Minnesota Twins MLB Prediction:
As an admitted fan I keep wondering when the Jays will get it together. The fight against Texas did not light a fire under them but I there is still every reason to like them a lot in every game this series. Lots of chances to earn back some units.
This is one of those spots where I would recommend parlaying the winning team and the over. You get a better payoff and with the winning team being the visitors you still get that extra set of at bats if you need them to go over.
4* Free MLB Betting Pick: Toronto ML and Over
I am sure you have probably been burned by the Jays too this season but now is not the time to put your head in the sand. They are going to be good on the ML and the run line this weekend.
