Blue Jays lead the weekend series 1-0 after stroking the ball on Friday night. Rays had the lead in the second game of the series, but it suspended due to lightning in the area. The season record is now at 2-2 after the game on Friday night.

Ji-man Choi had a solid series against the Blue Jays last month to open the season. He drove in three runs along with three walks in the first series but, went 0-4 in Friday’s game. The 29-year old first baseman is carrying a .185 average accompanied by seven RBI’s and a .630 OPS.
Yonny Chirinos will return from the IL and make his second start of the season against the Jays. Chirinos last pitched against the Orioles on August 2nd and gave up only one run in 4.2 frames in a game the Rays ultimately lost 5-1.
Toronto Blue Jays
Bo Bichette has been amazing as of late adding another home run to his season totals on Friday as well as four more RBI’s.
Travis Shaw is heating up as well, belting two dingers along with four RBI’s in his last three games. The 30-year old lefty adds a much needed veteran presence to a youthful lineup. Shaw is 2 for 10 against the Rays pitching staff in four games this year.
Matt Shoemaker had a nice start the last time out, allowing three runs in six innings against the Red Sox, getting a no-decision in a 5-3 Blue Jays’ defeat. The right-hander has pitched well in two of his three starts so far and enters with a 4.86 ERA and an amazing 1.02 WHIP to go with a 1-1 record.
