Seattle have been the top team in their AL West division this year, and will take on a .500 Tampa Bay Rays team.
Neither team has what should be considered an overpowering offense and tend to rely on their pitching to do a lot of the heavy lifting to boost the win column.
Tampa Bay Rays
Tampa Bay arguably have the worst offense in the MLB this season.
Former stud Evan Longoria looks like a shell of his once dominant self, although he does have 6 homers in 2016.
Aside from pleasant surprise Logan Forsythe, who has 4 HR and a .308 BA, there isn’t a whole lot of consistency to this lineup.
The Rays do have some power between Steven Souza Jr. (7 HR, .265 BA), Corey Dickerson (7 HR, .187 BA), and Longoria, but are playing in a tough hitter’s park at Safeco.
Tampa has the second worst Runs scored in 2016 (104), are 5th worst in the league in strikeouts (283) and dead last in batting average (.225).
Seattle Mariners
The Mariners may have found their heir apparent to ace Felix Hernandez, in Taijuan Walker.
The former top prospect is coming off a 2015 season where he flashed his dominance at times, but not appears to be doing so on a consistent basis early in the 2016 season.
He carries an excellent 1.97 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a 29:3 K-to-BB ratio in six starts this season.
The Seattle offense has been led by Robinson Cano, who looks to be back in his Yankee-like form that earned him $240-million. His 12 HR’s lead all second baseman and he holds a .301 average on the season.
However, after Cano the Mariners’ lineup doesn’t have a ton of other weapons.
Regular sluggers Nelson Cruz and Kyle Seager only have 5 and 4 HR’s on the year, respectively and the latter is hitting just .233 thus far despite a recent hot streak of .351 in his past 15 games.

The Rays will send Chris Archer to the mound, their ace who struggled earlier in the season but appears to have turned it around having just allowed 2 earned runs in his past 3 starts.
In Walker, the Mariners’ have a top of the rotation guy to oppose Archer and should be able to handle a weak Tampa lineup.
While I’d lean towards Seattle taking the win, neither of the two offenses is overpowering and I like the betting the Under (line set at 7.5 on Pinnacle) with these two taking the mound in the pitcher friendly Safeco.

I’m always iffy to take an under when the line is set so low, but looking at these two pitchers against these two offenses I think we’re looking at least a too late.
I do like Seattle’s offense over Tampa’s, so I like the combo bet here with a relative even matchup on the mound.
