Here is my Phillies Braves free pick: I’m taking the Under 7.5. Friday produced a 6-5 final, but that game needed 11 innings and multiple late rallies before it turned into something that looked like a slugfest.
Philadelphia’s offense gives me the better angle Saturday. The Phillies have scored only nine runs over their last four games, including one run in each of their two games before Friday. They haven’t consistently created big innings during this skid.
Atlanta has been winning, but the Braves aren’t simply overpowering teams offensively. Friday required a ninth-inning rally just to force extras, followed by another comeback in the 10th before they finally finished Philadelphia off.
I’m betting Saturday stays much closer to the early innings we saw Friday.
The starting matchup should also help keep the game under control before either bullpen becomes a major factor. Philadelphia has the stronger starting-pitching edge, while Atlanta’s staff has been one of its most dependable strengths all season.
That combination matters more to me than chasing Friday’s final score. We’re getting two clubs familiar with each other and a Philadelphia lineup that hasn’t been consistently dangerous lately.
