A battle between two teams who do not spend much, but have been known to pull off some incredible season go up against each other on Thursday, as the Oakland A’s take on the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field.

Everything about the Oakland Athletics seems legit so far, as they have struck a nice balance between great pitching and really solid batting and it would not be at all surprising to see them making yet another deep run into the playoffs here in 2021.
The Oakland Athletics have batted in well over 100 runs so far this year, which is not normal for them, as they are more known for their ability to pitch and defend as opposed to their big batting lineup.
The one guy who has been the main reason for the offense being so great is Matt Olsen who is hitting well over .300 and already has 6 home runs and if he, along with the rest of this A’s batting lineup, can keep this pace up they will be in a great position to do some damage come October.
Chris Bassitt is getting the start in this spot and although his ERA is a tad high at this point, he has looked great flashing some seriously good strikeout stuff and he gets a great opportunity here against the Rays to rack up even more K’s.
Tampa Bay Rays
The Tampa Bay Rays may not have the same upside as the Oakland A’s have this year as they lost a lot of talent this past off-season, but they do remain a really solid team who will compete in the AL East.
It really is Randy Arozerena and Joey Wendle who are holding up this offense, as they are the only guys who are consistently getting on base with both of these guys being the only ones hitting over .300 on the team.
The Tampa Bay Rays cannot be blamed if they struggle a bit at the early stages of the season though, as they are dealing with a ton of injuries especially in the pitching department with upwards of 10 pitchers on the injured list right now.
