These teams haven’t met this season. Texas took two of three from New York last September, including one-run and five-run victories before the Mets salvaged the finale.

Here is my Mets Rangers free pick: I’m taking Over 7.5 Tuesday night at Globe Life Field.
Neither starter gives me much reason to be scared of this number. Sean Manaea enters with a 4.74 ERA and 1.32 WHIP, while MacKenzie Gore sits at 4.67 with a 1.35 WHIP. Both can miss bats, but both have spent too much time allowing traffic.
Texas also has more urgency. The Rangers enter the final week leading the AL West by one game. New York is out of the race, but Juan Soto and Carson Benge give this lineup enough punch to contribute.
Seven and a half doesn’t require fireworks when both starters have spent the season allowing traffic.
This total needs both starters to bend a little and one bullpen to make the usual late-inning contribution. The Rangers have played more Overs than Unders this season. Texas is also coming off a 7-2 loss to Toronto, so the pitching staff doesn’t exactly arrive wrapped in bubble wrap.
The Mets have scored 16 runs over their last three games, including 10 against Philadelphia on Saturday.
I can see Gore and Manaea each giving up enough early damage to put this total in good shape before the bullpens take over.
