The Minnesota Twins and San Francisco Giants finish their three-game series Wednesday afternoon at Oracle Park. First pitch is set for 3:45 PM ET, with Minnesota entering at 74-84 and San Francisco sitting at 65-93.
The series is tied after two games. San Francisco won Monday’s opener 5-2 before Minnesota answered with a 3-2 victory Tuesday night behind another strong outing from Taj Bradley and a go-ahead home run from Walker Jenkins.
Five games remain, October isn’t calling, and apparently these two still need a rubber match to settle things.
Minnesota is 34-46 on the road, while San Francisco owns a 37-40 record at Oracle Park. The Giants have dropped seven of their last 10, and the Twins are 4-6 over that same stretch.
Tony Vitello’s club has also been hammered by injuries, leaving San Francisco with one of the younger rosters in baseball as it limps toward the finish line.

Connor Prielipp brings some legitimate momentum into the finale after throwing seven scoreless innings against the Angels. San Francisco counters with César Perdomo, who has been respectable through his first handful of big-league appearances.
These offenses have spent two nights making seven runs look ambitious, so I’m not demanding a sudden personality change.
Oracle Park doesn’t hurt the cause, but recent form matters more to me. Minnesota has scored five runs through two games in this series, while San Francisco has seven, and both clubs are playing out the string with lineups that aren’t exactly frightening opposing pitching staffs.
Seven and a half is never a luxurious number, but Prielipp has enough swing-and-miss stuff to control this matchup and Perdomo doesn’t need to pitch deep to keep San Francisco competitive.
