The Minnesota Twins take on the Cincinnati Reds in the opening game of their quick two-game series on Tuesday night, from Great American Ball Park.
With the 2021 season not going according to plan for the AL Central reigning champs, eyes are already set on next season in Minnesota.
The Twins are 44-62 overall, placing them last in the AL Central, 18 games back from the division leading White Sox.
Nelson Cruz was having an incredible season before being dealt to the Rays, just further creating a hole in the offense. Cruz was leading the team in batting average, home run, and OBP.

Cincinnati has played solid this season but will need to pick it up over the last months two months if they hope to make the playoffs. The Brewers have pulled away in the NL Central and their best chance looks to be catching the Padres for the final wild card spot.
Over the last week, Votto has seven home runs and is hitting .375, and has quickly turned into one of the most feared hitters in baseball. The offense as a whole has seen the long ball rise to fruition, with Jonathan India, Kyle Farmer, and Eugenio Suarez, all adding 2 home runs in the last week.
Cincinnati continues to be without Mike Moustakas and Nick Senzel, while the larger issue is the status of Nick Castellanos. The teams best hitter was placed on the 10-day DL with right wrist fracture.
Castellanos is a big miss in the lineup, as he’s been a leader not just in the clubhouse, but in baseball as a whole. He leads the team with a league best .329 average, 59 RBI, and 111 hits, as well as 2nd on the team with 18 home runs.
MLB Baseball Betting Trends:

- Reds are 26-26 at home
Free Minnesota Twins vs. Cincinnati Reds MLB Prediction:
Cincinnati is dealing with some injuries but have received solid production throughout the lineup. Kyle Farmer and Jonathan India are on a roll and adding that with Joey Votto playing the best week of baseball in his career, the Reds’ offense is setting itself up to be tough to beat.
The Twins offense has their own set of issues and hasn’t had anyone step up to change things offensively of late.
I’m taking the Reds to grab a must win game at home on Tuesday.
