The Milwaukee Brewers have been one of the biggest surprises this year, and they will look to inch closer to a division win this Friday as they take on the struggling Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park.

The Brewers got off to a rocky start as well, but all of that is firmly behind them, as they now lead the division off the back of an 8 game winning streak and given the current state of the Pirates roster, you would be surprised if they cannot keep rolling in this series.
It must be said though, that the Brewers are due for some negative regression in terms of RISP, as they have the 30th ranked batting lineup in terms of average, but the 15th most runs scored in the league.
The name of the game for this Brewers team has been pitching, and they bring one of the best overall units in the majors with them only allowing a .215 batting average to their opponents which ranks 2nd.
Adrian Houser will get the start here for the Brewers and he has not exactly been one of their more elite options with a 4-5 record and a 4.16 ERA, but he does get a big opportunity to improve those stats, as the Pirates are also one of the league’s worst offenses.
Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates now have a 29-50 record, so it is a bit tough to believe at this point that this team actually started out the season pretty well. It has been all down hill for this team since the first month of the season however, and it does not look like they have a ton going forward either, as this pitching staff in particular is in shambles.
They do have a couple of guys with the bat who are having solid season and a nice exciting rookie in Ke’Bryan Hayes, but it just doesn’t seem like enough to think this team is going to be competitive any time soon.
The Pirates will send JT Brubaker to the mound and he has without a doubt been one of their better pitchers coming into this one with a 4-7 record and a 3.82 ERA with the best thing about Brubaker this year being his consistency.
