Minnesota was supposed to take a step this season but they came out way flat to start the year. They were never going to challenge Kansas City for the division but they were supposed to be more competitive than they have been.
Milwaukee’s outlook isn’t much better and they don’t have the high ceiling prospects that the Twins have.
The Brewers are struggling thanks to a very inconsistent offense. The likes of Ryan Braun and Jonathan LuCroy can still swing it but they are not the elite kinds of hitters that can carry a lineup, at least not anymore.
This group needs production from top to bottom if they want to be competitive and they are just not getting it.
Starter Chase Anderson came over from Arizona in the Jean Segura trade. So far the Brewers could not have asked for more as he has yet to give up a run through two starts.
His last two starts of last year were high quality so perhaps he has something figured out. Now he just has to figure out how to work deeper into the ball game.
They might not have knows who it would be heading into the season but so far Jeremy Jeffress has excelled in the closer role. He is perfect in saves and has yet to give up a run in 2016.
Overall the high leverage bullpen arms have performed well.
Minnesota has high hopes for a future lineup led by Miguel Sano, Byron Buxton and Byung Ho Park. However, heading into Sunday’s action all were batting below .200 and striking out a ton.
It is early but it is not a great indicator that things are about to turnaround for the Twins. On the plus side Joe Mauer has looked strong early for Minnesota. They need him too.
The pitching for the Twins has been solid but unspectacular.
Kyle Gibson aptly fits that description too. He looks intimidating out there but doesn’t really have great stuff. He was better in his second start though.
Minnesota is having to make a change in their bullpen.
Reliable closer Glenn Perkins is hurt and as a result Kevin Jepsen is getting the call. They have to have leads to protect for this to matter much.

Free Milwaukee Brewers vs. Minnesota Twins MLB Prediction:
The Twins are going to be a fade team until they start getting more consistent offense.
Their prospects still have time to prove themselves but they are looking overmatched way too often. All those strikeouts are empty at bats for a club that can’t afford them.
Sadly, this makes Milwaukee the team you should probably back in this one.
4* Free MLB Betting Pick: Milwaukee ML
At least if you are backing the Brewers Anderson could give you a little confidence. He has been Milwaukee’s best pitcher in 2016 and it is not like the Brew Crew are taking on anything close to an ace.
