The Milwaukee Brewers visit the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards on Sunday night looking to finish off a three-game sweep. Milwaukee owns baseball’s best record at 97-58 and has already clinched its fourth straight NL Central title, while Baltimore sits at 75-80 and last in the AL East.
The Brewers have taken the first two games in completely different fashion. Friday required 10 innings before Milwaukee escaped 6-5, while Saturday turned into a 1-0 pitchers’ duel that featured exactly as much offense as that score suggests.
Milwaukee has already won this series; now the Brewers get to hand Misiorowski the broom.
Baltimore had arrived home after sweeping the Mets, but that momentum disappeared quickly against the team with the best record in baseball. The Orioles now have one more shot to avoid being swept before Milwaukee heads home.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 PM ET at Camden Yards, with the Brewers chasing win No. 98 and Baltimore trying to salvage something from the weekend.

The betting market has Milwaukee installed as a sizable road favorite, with the Brewers around -209 and Baltimore +175. Milwaukee is -1.5 on the runline, while the total is sitting at 7.5 at most sportsbooks.
The first two games offer bettors one result for each argument. Milwaukee won Friday’s opener 6-5 in 10 innings before the pitching took over Saturday, when the Brewers managed only three hits but still walked away with a 1-0 victory.
That makes eight wins in Milwaukee’s last 10 games, while Baltimore has dropped the first two of this series after arriving on a three-game winning streak. The Brewers have already handled the hard part; Sunday is about finishing the job.
Orioles Stats
Baltimore has been a middle-to-lower tier offensive club this season, batting .234 with 189 home runs. The Orioles can still leave the yard, but generating consistent offense has been a different story, and Saturday’s shutout was their third of September.
Five runs in two games isn’t ideal preparation for a date with Misiorowski.
Pete Alonso remains the centerpiece of the lineup with 38 home runs and 105 RBIs. Coby Mayo has added 24 homers, while Gunnar Henderson has 23, giving Baltimore enough power that Milwaukee can’t simply sleepwalk through the order.
The pitching staff has been more respectable, carrying an ERA a little above 4.00. Baltimore also got eight strong innings from Trevor Rogers on Saturday and still lost, which is a fairly cruel way for a pitcher to spend an afternoon.
The Orioles are also dealing with several late-season injuries, including Jackson Holliday on the injured list. With seven games remaining, there isn’t much runway left to fix anything.

Milwaukee has built the best record in baseball with balance rather than one overwhelming offensive star. The Brewers are hitting around .258 as a team with an on-base percentage near .341, and they’ve consistently found ways to manufacture runs without relying entirely on home runs.
Jake Bauers leads Milwaukee with 26 homers, while Brice Turang has supplied 97 runs and 93 RBIs. Jackson Chourio has added 24 home runs, giving the Brewers another dangerous bat in a lineup that can attack pitchers several different ways.
The pitching has been the bigger headache for opponents.
Milwaukee entered the weekend with one of MLB’s best team ERAs, and Saturday provided another reminder when Robert Gasser, Abner Uribe and Aaron Ashby combined on a four-hit shutout. The Brewers have now allowed five runs across the first two games in Baltimore.
They’ve already clinched the division and matched last season’s franchise-record 97 victories. Win Sunday and that record belongs to this club alone.

Jacob Misiorowski gets the ball for Milwaukee carrying a 15-5 record and a major-league-best 1.89 ERA. He also leads MLB with 243 strikeouts and a 0.81 WHIP, which is a fairly obnoxious collection of numbers to bring into a Sunday night game.
Misiorowski was sharp again in his last start, throwing five scoreless innings against Pittsburgh as Milwaukee clinched the NL Central. He allowed five hits, struck out seven and lowered his ERA back under 1.90.
Misiorowski has spent most of this season making major-league hitters look badly underprepared.
Baltimore counters with Brandon Young, who enters at 9-4 with a 3.65 ERA and 118 strikeouts. Young held the Mets to one run over five innings in his previous start, giving the Orioles another legitimate arm after Rogers nearly matched Milwaukee pitch for pitch Saturday.
Young doesn’t have Misiorowski’s swing-and-miss arsenal, and his 1.37 WHIP leaves more traffic on the bases. Still, he’s been steady enough to give Baltimore a chance if the Orioles can finally provide some run support.
Milwaukee Brewers vs. Baltimore Orioles bottom line: Baltimore just lost a 1-0 game and now gets Misiorowski, which feels a little like complaining about the appetizer before somebody wheels out an even nastier main course.

Here is my Brewers Orioles free pick: Under 7.5 is my play in Baltimore. Milwaukee has won the first two games of this series 6-5 and 1-0, but Sunday’s setup looks much more like the second game with Jacob Misiorowski facing Brandon Young. The Brewers’ ace gives us an awfully good place to start.
Misiorowski brings dominant form into this matchup, and Baltimore has already been shut out once this weekend. Young isn’t in the same class, but he has been plenty competitive and just held the Mets to one run over five innings in his last start. That gives Baltimore a legitimate chance to keep Milwaukee from doing all the scoring itself.
Seven and a half doesn’t leave much room, but neither starter has been easy to solve.
The Orioles have also scored only five runs through the first two games of the series. Milwaukee owns one of baseball’s best pitching staffs, so I’m not interested in asking Baltimore to suddenly carry an over against the NL Cy Young contender.
The weather isn’t part of my case here. This comes down to two capable starters, Milwaukee’s pitching depth and an Orioles lineup facing the nastiest arm of the bunch. If Baltimore stays quiet again, Milwaukee would need to do most of the damage itself.
That’s asking a lot with Young on the other side.
