The Dodgers have been pretty impressive.
They are in the thick of the race in the NL despite significant injuries and the only thing that seems to going right is the development of Corey Seager.
Not much has gone right in Arizona this season but they have not been able to collect wins while they figure it out. I guess that is the difference between good and bad teams.
Los Angeles Dodgers
A healthy Dodgers team could be formidable.
They will definitely be on the lookout for reinforcements but they get to start the second half at Arizona, who is going nowhere, again.
Seager has been the entire offense at times and that could be their ultimate downfall.
Things are getting so bad that there are lots of rumours that Yasiel Puig might no be a Dodger much longer.
The Dodgers are going to be leaning heavily on Brandon McCarthy in the second half.
He made a couple of starts just before the break and they give LA confidence.
He might just be a six inning pitcher but that is fine with LA as their bullpen has been superb. He is familiar with pitching in Arizona but did not have a lot of success with the Diamondbacks.
Arizona Diamondbacks
Things have not worked out as expected in the desert for Arizona.
The pitching has not been good and an offense that was supposed to be in the upper half, hasn’t been, despite the 20 homers from Jake Lamb.
Goldy has been Goldy but his numbers are not elite this season, just good. The offense can definitely be better but it does not sound like they are going to rip this team apart.
The Diamondbacks are hoping that Archie Bradley can be both the present and the future.
Hopefully the future will be more than what we have seen this season.
Bradley can miss bats but his walks get him into trouble. He might not be the ace that they are hoping for behind Greinke and Miller.
His lone start against the Dodgers was not a good one – he gave up three homers. Also at Chase Field.
