Two teams at opposite ends of the AL West will go toe-to-toe on Sunday as the LA Angels play the Oakland Athletics at Oakland Coliseum, in Oakland, California.
Los Angeles Angels
If you asked a lot of baseball fans if they thought the Angels would have a worse record at this point in the season than the Mariners you would have gotten plenty of ”no chance” answers, but that is exactly the position the Angels find themselves in after a 2-8 run in their last 10 games. The crazy thing about their record is the fact that they have been batting really well aside from Ohtani who has been really struggling with a .171 average.
Rendon has been great since coming to the Angels and Trout has 10 home runs and a solid .283 average so far, so things should be going better for them based on their batting.
Dylan Bundy gets the call for this one and he should give his team plenty of confidence to go on and win this one with his 3-2 record and his very good 2.48 ERA.
Oakland Athletics
The Athletics always had a chance to do something this year, but how good they have been and how good they have actually looked when watching this team are the biggest surprises here for me.
The Athletics are deservedly atop the AL West and I do not see a reason they cannot stay there until the end of the season as their mix of batting and great pitching is unmatched by the vast majority of the teams in the league.
The Athletics send Frankie Montas to the mound for this contest and he currently holds a 4.74 ERA and a 2-2 record. This guy is a really solid pitcher, but will need to bounceback off of a rough start last time out, and although the Angels are not a good team, his individual matchup against these Angels bats is not the easiest one.

I can see us getting a solid price on the Angels and I think they will have enough to get over the line here, as they are not as bad of a team as their record would suggest and I fully expect them to turn things around sooner rather than later.
