Their is deserved hype around this LA Angels team at this point and they will look to continue their good start to the season when they take on the struggling Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park this Thursday.
Los Angeles Angels
The LA Angels can thank their hot start to their outstanding bats, as they are seriously getting the job done hitting .266 in terms of average as a team and they already have 81 total runs, so they have been box office stuff so far in 2021.
It is not surprise then that the main guy doing the business for LA is Mike Trout, who looks about as good as he ever has hitting .393 so far with 6 home runs, as he shows off some of the pop in that bat.
The Angels no have a Robin to their Batman though, as Shohei Ohtani is now properly healthy and is contributing in a big way with the bat hitting over .300 to go along with the 5 homers he has already hit.
The LA Angels will send Alex Cobb to the mound and he enters this contest with a 1-0 record and a decent 4.63 ERA and although he has given up some runs this year, his strikeout stuff has been awesome, as he already has 17 strikeouts thus far this year.
Houston Astros
You do get the same feeling with this Astros team as you get with the Yankees, that this horrid start to the season will be forgotten by the end of the year when both of these teams are playoff bound.
There is reason for serious concern in Houston, though, as they come in here with a 7-9 record which does not seem that bad on paper,but when you consider their strength of schedule so far you do see why some people think the troubles in Houston might not just be a result of short term variance.
The Astros have been able to bat decently so far, but you do fear for their pitching in this game, as they have not looked great against some poor batting lineups and now they go up against one as good as the Angels.
