Kansas City Royals
Fewer things have made me feel older than realizing that Ian Kennedy is now a 10 year Major League veteran.
The mysterious prospect who the Yankees refused to trade for anybody when I was a boy is now a predictable second starter for an average professional team.
The once USC Trojan made five starts against the lowly version of the 2016 Twins, dominated one, threw well in one and performed below expectations in the other three.
But on the whole, Kennedy was solid last year, with a 3.68 ERA. He didn’t give up a run in over 17 innings of Cactus League action this spring so he is DIALED IN.
Royals got a whole lotta nothing against Ervin Santana in game one of this series. Eric Hosmer has to hit, and hit a lot, for this team to go anywhere in a tough division.
I’m still looking for visual evidence that Miguel Sano has lost any weight so I’ll tune into this one to see what I’ve badly wanted to know for the last couple weeks.
Sano did homer on Opening Day, however, which is a promising start.
The Twins broke this game open on Monday when the Royals walked three guys with the bases loaded in the same inning.
That’s not something that teams do on a consistent basis so we’ll throw that one out.
Jason Castro and Jorge Polanco each went 2-for-3 and the bullpen was nearly perfect in its two innings of work.
Hector Santiago starts his first full season as a Twin after making 11 starts for them in the second half of last season. He’s very average, a lefty and uses a screwball.
Otherwise, there isn’t much to stay about the man.

Free Kansas City vs. Minnesota Twins MLB Prediction: Royals even the series.
They have the clear pitching edge that they didn’t have in the first game. I think KC gets in the win column.
4* Free MLB Betting Pick: Royals -115
But I’m not betting it.
