The Royals and Red Sox open their series Friday evening at Fenway Park.
The Royals have been on fire, winning nine straight but dropping their last game against the Marlins.
The Red Sox have been hot themselves, winning 10 of their last 13 games but blew a three run lead to lose in the eleventh inning against the Rays by a score of 4-3.
Ian Kennedy gets the start for the Royals, he’s 8-9 with a 3.58 ERA and 1.15 WHIP.
Steven Wright is on the mound for the Red Sox, he’s 13-5 with a 3.01 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP.
Kansas City Royals
The Royals have struggled offensively all season long. They average just 3.9 runs per game but during their win streak they scored 50 runs in nine games.
The offense disappeared against the Marlins Wednesday night, where they lost 3-0.
In their last three games, they’ve scored just three runs, so it looks as if they aren’t scoring much once again and the hot hitting streak is over.
The Royals are good at limiting opponents though, they give up just 4.1 runs per game which is fifth best in the league.
Ian Kennedy has given up just 3.58 runs per game and in his last five starts, he’s given up just three runs in total over 34 innings of work.
Boston Red Sox
Boston has been playing great and is giving the Orioles and Jays a run for their money.
They are tied with the Jays for first in the AL East and offensively, there is no better team.
In their last five games, however, they’ve scored just 19 runs.
The Red Sox main issue is that they give up the fifteenth most runs in the league but Steven Wright isn’t one of the pitchers in that category of struggles.
He had a rough late June and July, then went down with injury after a shutout complete game in August.
This will be his first start since returning from injury, so he may not be as prepared as he would like to be but fortunately he is facing one of the worst offenses in the league.

Free Kansas City Royals vs. Boston Red Sox MLB Prediction:
The Royals have been playing well with an offensive explosion combined with excellent pitching but they haven’t found the scoreboard much of their last three games. So offensively, the Red Sox are the much better team.
The pitching for the Royals is usually pretty rock solid and Kennedy has been pitching unreal. With Wright just returning from injury, the Royals take the pitching matchup.
This one could go either way but with the way Kennedy is pitching, I’m going with the Royals.
4* Free MLB Betting Pick: Royals ML
This one features two phenomenal pitchers and a Royals team that hasn’t scored much all season and have slowed down the last three games.
The Red Sox are also scoring a bit less than usual right now so I think this one will stay low scoring.
MLB Free Score Prediction: Royals 3-2
