The Astros avoided all types of drama this season in terms of the standings until now.
There was one brief stint that saw the Angels take first place for a day, but since then it’s been the Astros atop the AL West all season long. Things are getting tight as the season winds down as they now hold just a 1.5 game lead on Texas and a 4.5 game lead on the surging Angels.
With the loss on Friday, the Astros are just 1-3 on their current 10 game road trip and will look to RH Lance McCullers to turn the tide on Saturday.

McCullers brings in a record of 5-5 with an ERA of 3.07. In his last start he allowed just 1 run in 7.0 innings of work, with 8 strikeouts, but failed to factor in the decision as the Astros offense couldn’t help out.

Los Angeles
The Angels are trying to make one more run at the post season and are making a viable effort at it.
