The Jays really knocked the Astros down a peg taking three of four in Houston in a series that set a record for strikeouts.
If Houston is going to get back in the race for the Wild Card in the AL they are going to need to return the favour this weekend.
It will be hot in Toronto so the Astros should feel right at home.
Houston Astros
In a sign of their recent struggles the Astros have released Carlos Gomex, their key deadline acquisition of a year ago.
I love the top of their lineup with Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa and George Springer in the leadoff spot but once you get past Correa at four there is next to nothing other than the occasional Evan Gattis bomb.

On the mound the Houston starters have really struggled this season. Colin McHugh has rarely shown the kind of form that led to 10 wins a year ago and has been a downright disaster on the road this season.
That does not bode well facing a lineup like the Jays have at Rogers Centre. Against Toronto last week they got some amazing relief performance from rookies.
They are trying a lot of stuff because the regular guys are not the most reliable.
Toronto Blue Jays
As this is being written the Jays are enjoying a half game lead. However, they have some challenges ahead with two starting OFs on the DL – Jose Bautista and Kevin Pillar.
There should still be more than enough offense though with Josh Donaldson and Edwin Encarnacion having strong years.
Plus, since coming off the DL in June he is looking like the player we saw in Colorado.

The Jays entered the season with a rotation of question marks but that group has been the star of the team.
A big reason for that has been Aaron Sanchez.
There are stilll questions about whether they will shut him down later but he is 11-2 with a 2.85 ERA this year. He had 8 straight starts yielding 2ER or les before his last one.
He has been fantastic and is so economical with his pitches. The bullpen was awful in April but has been improving all season long.
MLB Baseball Betting Trends:
- HOU are 7-19 in their last 26 games on astroturf.
- Under is 7-3-1 in McHughs last 11 starts overall.
- Under is 9-2 in TOR last 11 overall.

- Over is 6-2 in TOR last 8 home games.
Free Houston Astros vs. Toronto Blue Jays MLB Prediction:
The Astros are in the face but if they can’t score against Toronto over the weekend they might not be for too much longer.
The Dome can be a launching pad but the Jays showed they could navigate Houston last week.
The Toronto lineup, even minus a couple of regulars still has more offense than most. Look for Sanchez to increase his hype machine with a dynamite outing. It might be his last start of the season.
4* Free MLB Betting Pick: Toronto RL
I am banking on Sanchez being really good here but the Jays could also bludgeon McHugh and put up some really crooked numbers on the way to an easy victory.
MLB Free Score Prediction: Toronto 7 – Houston 2
