The Twins secured the top spot int he AL Central and grabbed the third seed in the AL thanks to a collapse late down the stretch from the White Sox. Houston on the other hand, sured up the second spot in the West after struggling at the beginning of the season thanks to injuries.
Houston Astros
This will be the Astros fourth year in a row in the playoffs and they are the sixth seed entering their 2020 bid. First-year manager Dusty Baker will be back in the season for the first time since his days as the coach of the Cincinnati Reds.
Houston will try to bounce back after last year’s world series lost to the Nationals. The Stros will have to rely on other people to get it done as they are missing half of their pitching staff from last year’s run. A familiar face will take the mound for them on Tuesday though as Zach Greinke will be on the bump for their first game of the series.
Greinke posted a 3-3 record with a 4.03 ERA in 12 starts this season. He gave up 30 runs in 67 innings of work.
Minnesota Twins
Twins will try to make it out of the wildcard/divisional round for the first time since 2002 when they advanced to the NLCS.
Minnesota’s offense has been one of the best in the MLB all year and there is no reason that it vamps down for the playoffs. Nelson Cruz finished in the top 5 in home runs for the eighth time in his career and he’s not even the best hitter on this Twins team. As a team, the Twins averaged 4.48 runs per game which was ranked 19th to finish the season.
Rocco Baldelli will send out Kenta Maeda to face the Stros in the first game of the series. Maeda is going to finish in the top 5 in Cy Young voting after a great 2020 season. Madea finished the year with a 6-1 record with a 2.70 ERA in 12 starts this season for the twin city.

Free Houston Astros vs. Minnesota Twins MLB Prediction:
I like Houston in this game as they have more playoff experience compared to the Twins. Even though the Astro’s roster is depleted at this point in the season I still think that their resume better suits the postseason. Give me Greinke to keep that Twins lineup contained and get the first win in the series.
