Houston Astros
Astros lost four of five over the past week to Athletics. That series was huge as Oakland has now pushed their lead in the AL West to seven games over Houston.
The lineup struggled to get hits over the last five days and when they did the bullpen ended up blowing the games late. The Stro’s had two late lead’s blown in separate games and that has happened due to the fact that their bullpen is very inexperienced right now.
Framber Valdez will be making his eighth start in this one against Los Angeles. Valdez is 3-3 in eight appearances this year to go with his 3.61 ERA.
Los Angeles Dodgers
Los Angeles continues to roll over teams as they have the best record in the MLB. The Dodgers are stacked and I don’t see any team stopping them in a seven-game series when it reaches playoff time. Dodgers took two of three against the D-Backs before coming into this weekend series.
Dodgers are averaging 5.64 runs per game which is ranked 3rd among teams in the MLB. Mookie Betts leads the team with 14 home runs and 33 RBI’s on the year and it looks like this offseason acquisition is already starting to pay off.
Julio Urias will take the mound for his ninth start this year. Urias is a perfect 3-0 on the year with a 3.86 ERA in eight starts in 2020. He has surrendered 16 runs over 37.1 innings of work.
