The Astros won’t be heading to the post-season, which is a loss for baseball fans because this is a very exciting team to watch.
With young superstars in Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa and George Springer leading the offense, the Astros’ lineup will be a strong one for years to come, especially when you factor in top prospects Alex Bregman, AJ Reed and Yulieski Gurriel.
The latter three all made their debut this season and Bregman and Gurriel were able to make immediate impacts.
The Astros’ rotation took a step back this season after a strong showing a season ago.
Mainly, Dallas Keuchel just didn’t regain form that led to an AL Cy Young and Collin McHugh also didn’t look like the budding star this year either.
Joe Musgrave made a nice debut season, however, after shooting up the prospect ranks in short order. He will take the hill for likely his final start here, entering with a 4.06 ERA and 1.21 WHIP.
Los Angeles Angels
Mike Trout did his best to lift the team on his back and carry them to the promise land in October, but alas one man’s strength isn’t enough to carry the entire team.
Trout leads the Angels with a .318 batting average and .441 OBP, while providing 29 homers and 27 stolen bases in what was an ultimate fantasy baseball season for the star.
Albert Pujols did his best to look like the young version of himself, slugging 31 homers and 119 RBI to date along with a respectable .268 average.
Daniel Wright is a 25-year old pitching who made his MLB debut this season, but has yet to find success at this level so far.
The former 10th round pick by Cinncinati currently owns a 6.95 ERA and 1.75 WHIP to go along with his 0-5 record, which is not the ideal way to start one’s career.
Across his 34.2 innings pitched, he only has 16 strikeouts so the peripherals don’t appear overly promising at this point in time.
MLB Baseball Betting Trends:
- Jose Altuve leads the AL with a .337 average
- The Astros has a run differential of +33 as opposed to LA’s -20.
- Houston has a 40-38 record on the road this year.
- LA is 38-40 in their home park this year.
- LA is 7-3 in their past 10 games.
Free Houston Astros vs. Los Angeles Angels MLB Prediction:
While neither team will be heading to the post-season, the Astros are definitely the team to pick in this game.
Their star-studded lineup is lead by Jose Altuve, who is looking to lock-up an AL MVP recognition for his outstanding season.
4* Free MLB Betting Pick: Houston -1.5
The pitching matchup of the two young chuckers heavily favors the Astros as well, I’ll take them by the spread.
