The Astros will be in Boston to take on the Red Sox for Game 4 of the American League Championship Series. The first pitch is set for 8:08 ET.
Zack Greinke is going for the Astros and Nick Pivetta is going for the Red Sox.
Boston won 12-3 on Monday and they now lead the series 2-1.
Houston Astros
The Astros have now played back-to-back bad games. This is the first time this postseason that they find themselves trailing in the series.
We all know how good this team is, but something clearly is not clicking right now for them. They will look to get back on track on Tuesday.
Game 3 felt like a carbon copy of what happened in game 2. The Red Sox took a huge lead early on and never looked back.
Jose Urquidy clearly was not ready for the big stage on Monday night. He lasted only 1.2 innings and allowed 5 earned runs. He forced the Astros to go to their bullpen early.
Zack Greinke will be called upon for game 3. This is the first time he is starting this postseason. He finished the year with a record of 11-6 with an ERA of 4.13.
The pitching has just not been good enough so far in this series. They have been forced to use a lot of pitchers out of their bullpen.
The offense has been quiet the past few games. The 1-3 hitters have not been good at all during this series. They will have to step it up if they wish to come back and win this series.
Houston got their runs on a 3 run homer, but besides that, the bats were kept in check.
Boston Red Sox
After losing a close one on Friday, the Red Sox have now rattled off two wins in a row. They definitely seem to have the momentum on their side.
The Sox continue to play good baseball at their home park. They were locked in from the first pitch.
Just like in game 2, Boston got an early lead in game 3 and never looked back. They buried the Astros quickly.
Eduardo Rodriguez pitched very well on Monday. The veteran left-hander went 6 innings, allowed 3 earned runs, and struck out 7 batters. He looked very sharp in that outing.
Nick Pivetta will be called on to pitch game 4. He has not started a game in the playoffs yet, but he has come in as a bulk reliever in the Tampa series. He will look to build off of what Eovaldi and Rodriguez have done.
There were lots of questions about the pitching for this team in this series. So far, they have done a good job of containing a powerful offense in Houston. They will look to keep that trend up in game 4.
The offense is red hot at the moment. The hottest hitter on the team right now is Kike Hernandez who may be the hottest hitter on the planet.
The Red Sox once again hit a grand slam. This time, it was Kyle Schwarber who hit. What an addition he has been to their lineup.
MLB Baseball Betting Trends:

- The Astros are 0-5 in their last 5 games as a road underdog.
- The Red Sox are 5-0 in their last 5 games when their opponent allows 5 runs or more in their previous game.
- The Red Sox are 6-0 in their last 6 games as a favorite.
- The Red Sox are 7-0 in their last 7 playoff home games.
Houston Astros vs. Boston Red Sox MLB Prediction:
I do not think many people had the Red Sox up 2-1 in this series. This is a team that a lot of folks doubted and said they would not match up well with the Astros.
It is obvious that Boston is playing with more energy than Houston. At times, it seems like the Astros are playing half asleep. They do not seem totally locked in.
I just do not see the Red Sox slowing down. They are clearly feeding off their home crowd and the moment is not too big for them. I feel they can have similar results against Zack Greinke.
My play is the Red Sox at home here.
