Houston took game 1 by a score of 10-2.
Jose Urquidy will get the start for the Astros and Thomas Eshelman will go for the birds.
The Astros have been of the best teams in baseball and have been hot as of late. They have won 8 in a row and 9 out of their last 10.
At 44-28, they sit 1st in the American League West. Houston has surpassed the Athletics and sit 1 game ahead of them.
Houston beat the Chicago White sox in all 4 games in their past series. In that series, they scored 27 runs and allowed 8.
Lance McCullers was very good on Sunday. The righty went 6 innings and held the White Sox to 2 runs.
Jose Urquidy has been solid this year. He has a 5-3 ERA with a 3.65 ERA. In his last start against the White Sox, he went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. In his short MLB career, he has yet to face the Orioles.
The Astros have gotten good pitching all year long. They rank 9th in ERA, sitting at 3.61. They have gotten great stuff from their trio of young arms, which include Framber Valdez, Jose Urquidy, and Luis Garcia. Zack Greinke and Lance McCullers Jr. have also had their success.
Their offense is the best in baseball, scoring 5.68 runs per game. Even with Alex Bregman injured, they are still getting great production. Some guys that do damage for them are Carlos Correa, Jose Altuve, and Yordan Alvarez.
It is impressive that they have been this good on offense without George Springer, who signed with the Blue Jays. He was a key part of what made that offense roll.
Hitting home runs is a big part of what this team does. They rank 7th with 95 of them hit.
The Orioles continue to play terrible baseball. They are one of the worst teams in baseball. They have lost 10 out of their last 11 games.
Baltimore sits in the basement of the American League East with a record of 23-49. The Boston Red Sox are 20 games ahead of them. It looks like this team is on pace to have another 100+ loss season.
In their last series, they lost 2 out of 3 times to the Blue Jays.
Matt Harvey got hit hard on Sunday. He went 4.1 innings, gave up 9 hits, and allowed 4 earned runs.
Thomas Eshelman has not been in the rotation for that long. His last start came on Friday where he went 4.2 innings and allowed 1 run.
They are ranked 29th in baseball with an ERA of 5.28. Both their starters and bullpen have really struggled this year.
Offense has not been the main issue for this club. They come in 20th scoring over 4 runs a game. Cedric Mullins and Trey Mancini have had impressive years.
The O’s have hit 84 home runs which is 15th best.

Houston Astros vs. Baltimore Orioles MLB Prediction:
It is no surprise that the Astros are such heavy favorites against the Orioles.
Right off the bat, I like the Astros in this game. To me, they are the best team in baseball and the Orioles are the worst. There is no excuse for them to lose this game.
Eshelman will have his hands full going against this Houston lineup. I expect the Astros to hit him early and often. For Urquidy, if he continues pitching how he has, he should have success against this Orioles team. I look for him to continue his good pitching. The moneyline is too expensive for me to lay, but I like the Stros to win by 2 or more.
I am rolling with the Astros on the run line.
