The Astros will visit Camden Yards for game 1 of the series against the Orioles on Monday at 7:05 ET.
These two teams have not played each other yet this year. The last time they faced off was 2019.
Jake Odorizzi will be going for the Astros and Keegan Akin will go for the Orioles.
Houston Astros
The Astros have had a very promising start to their season. They will come into this series having been playing good baseball.
Their record was improved to 42-28 on Saturday. They are in 2nd place in the National League West, 1 game behind the Athletics.
Houston has taken the first 3 games of the series against the White Sox. In that span, they have outscored Chicago 19-6. Game 4 of that series is Sunday at 2:10 ET.
Framber Valdez continued his good pitching on Saturday. He earned the win by going 7 innings and allowing 2 earned runs. His ERA now sits at 1.67.
Jake Odorizzi has a 1-3 record and a 5.68 ERA. The last time he pitched was on June 15th out of the bullpen. He went 4 innings and did not allow a run.
The Houston pitching has been very good this year with a 3.66 ERA. So far in the White Sox Series, they have gotten quality starts from Jose Urquidy, Luis Garcia, and Framber Valdez. They look to continue that on Sunday for game 4 and Monday for game 1 against the Orioles.
This offense continues to mash this year. They are 1st in baseball scoring 5.59 runs per game.
Some key hitters in their lineup are Alex Bregman, Carlos Correa, Jose Altuve, and Michael Brantley.
Houston has hit 93 home runs which is 7th in baseball.
Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles are having another disappointing season which is not that surprising to Folks. Coming into this series against the Astros, they have been skidding.
Baltimore finds themselves in last place in the American League East with a record of 23-47. The Red Sox are 19.5 games ahead of them.
In game 2 against the Blue Jays on Saturday, they lost 10-7. They were winning for a good part of the game, but allowed 6 runs in the 9th inning.
Keegan Akin has not been in the rotation for all that long. He has a 0-2 record with a 5.76 ERA. His last start came against the Indians on June 16th. He struggled in that one as he allowed 8 runs in 5.2 innings.
The pitching for this team has been brutal this year. They sit at 29th in baseball with a 5.23 ERA.
Offense has not been their issue. The Orioles are scoring 4.10 runs per game. Cedric Mullins has been a bright spot in a mostly negative year for this team.
They have hit 80 home runs this year which is 18th best.

Houston Astros vs. Baltimore Orioles MLB Prediction:
I understand that the better team does not always win. But, I have no confidence that the Orioles can beat the Astros. Houston is one of the best teams in baseball and Baltimore is one of the worst.
Given how good the Houston offense has been, I do not expect them to have issues with Keegan Akin. For the Orioles, I would not be shocked if they score on Jake Odorizzi. I just do not feel that their pitching will be able to do enough in order to win.
Although Odorizzi has struggled this year, he is the better pitcher than Akin. This gives the Astros the advantage. I just feel Houston will be too much for Baltimore to handle.
I will take the Astros on the ML.
