I am not sleeping on the Rockies yet. Remember 2007 when they shocked the world with an incredible late season tear to make the World Series.
This lineup is built for that type of run and if pitchers like Jorge de la Rosa and Jon Gray keep pitching decently, the Rockies could make a serious push for a wild card spot.

Colorado Rockies
If the Rockies were to make that type of run to the playoffs, Nolan Arenado would get some serious consideration for MVP.
It is hard to argue against Kris Bryant but the Cubs are much better built for the playoffs – arguably making Arenado more valuable to his team.

This Rockies lineup led by Arenado is a threat to hang 10 runs on a team any given night. Jason Hammel of the Cubs was just on a run of 22 straight scoreless innings and the Rockies scored 10 against him on Sunday in just 3.1 innings.
After a great July when Gray pitched to a 1.89 ERA in five starts, he has been awful in August with a 9.53 ERA in four starts.
The Rockies offense has bailed him out – winning two of those games but they’ll need more consistent outings from Gray to stay competitive.
Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers have become more and more intriguing as a team of the future as young guys keep coming up and contributing.
The Lucroy trade also helped them load up the farm system a bit but guys like Hernan Perez and Keonte Broxton have breathed some life into the last place ball club.
Those bats along with Ryan Braun and Chris Carter don’t make them a lineup to breeze through.
Chase Anderson will get the start for the Brewers and he has been a strain on the Brewers bullpen. Anderson has gone 6 or more innings just five times in 23 starts this season.

The Milwaukee bullpen has a 3.91 ERA this season so they haven’t exactly been great stepping in. A short-outing pitcher combined with a weak bullpen is not a good combination when going up against the Rockies deadly lineup.
