It’s only four games, but the Cleveland Indians haven’t pitched well to start the season. They’ve only got one quality start under their belt, they rank last in strikeouts, and they are 24th in ERA.

I look for the Indians to turn that around as the season progresses and against Tampa Bay in this upcoming season. Corey Kluber is going to take the bump for the Indians on Tuesday and I’m anticipating that he will pitch extremely well.
On the other side, the Indians have generated well over 4 runs a game. They are drawing walks and getting timely hits with runners in scoring position. I wouldn’t expect that trend to keep up, but so far, so good for the Indians. We’ll see how much offense they generate versus Matt Moore on Tuesday.
Tampa Bay Rays
As expected, the Tampa Bay Rays are struggling to open the season. Their pitching has been solid, but their defense and offense has been poor.
The Rays have only been able to muster up three runs a game in their six games which is 27th in the Majors, a .228 batting average (22nd in the MLB)and a .664 OPS (22nd in the MLB).

Pitching wise, they’ve been solid as they rank middle of the pack in ERA, top ten in WHIP, and first in strikeouts. They should be able to keep the Indians off the board, but they aren’t going to be able to muster up anything against Kluber.
