The series will shift to Chicago as the Astros visit the White Sox.
Luis Garcia is going for the Astros and there has been no official announcement about who the starter will be for the Sox.
The Astros have taken the first 2 games of the series. The most recent victory came on Friday when they won 9-4
Houston Astros
The Astros will look to keep up their good play and cap off this series. This is a team that played very well in the regular season and it does not look like they are slowing down.
The Astros did something on Friday that did often throughout the year: come from behind and win.
In game 2, Houston was down multiple times, but each time they fought their way back. They are a very resilient club.
Framber Valdez was not great on Friday. He went 4.1 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. He did seem a little off.
Although he does not get talked about a lot, Luis Garcia had a very good 2021 season. He will look to keep that up when he tries to contain that powerful offense of Chicago.
During the regular season, the pitching for this team was very good. So far, that trend has continued in the playoffs. Both the starters and the bullpen arms have done enough to keep their team in the game. They have done a good job of controlling the Chicago bats.
The offense was another strength of this team throughout the year and so far that has been the case in the playoffs. It should not surprise people that this team scored the most runs per game in baseball.
Houston hit 221 homers in the regular season. Against the White Sox, that has not been their main method of scoring, but you know at any moment they can leave the yard.
Chicago White Sox
The White Sox do not want to waste what was a good regular season. However, they are now on the brink of elimination. It is put up or shut up time for them now.
On Friday, the White Sox have leads on two separate occasions and they failed to hold them. As we all know, the Astros are never out of a game and that was apparent on Friday.
Houston took 2 games out of 3 from the Athletics over the weekend. In those games, the Astros scored 23 runs and allowed 18 runs.
Lucas Giolito was not able to go long in game 2 because of walks. He put five men on base via the walk. That is a recipe for disaster.
At the time of writing this article, there has been no official announcement about who the starter for game 3 is going to be. I have read that will either be Carlos Rodon or Dylan Cease. Either way, the Sox should feel good about their chances.
The pitching for this team was very good throughout the year, however, they have not been so great in this series. They have really had a tough time slowing down the potent offense of Houston.
So far, the offense has not really clicked. Jose Abreu has done a good job driving in runs, but his teammates have frankly not been that productive.
The Houston pitching has done a good job of keeping the Sox in the park. Home runs have not been a huge factor.

Chicago White Sox vs. Houston Astros MLB Prediction:
Going into this series, I thought it was going to be a very good one. Even though I picked the Astros both times, I was thinking the games would be a little closer. Friday started off close, but eventually, Houston turned it into a route.
Chicago certainly has its hands full, but I am going to switch it up and take the Sox here. For starters, I like the fact that they are playing back home. I feel playing in front of their fans can really help them. Also, I just feel they are too good of a team to get swept. I am not saying they are going to win the series, but I could see them forcing another game.
The main reason I feel good about the Sox here is their pitching. I think they have the advantage if either Cease or Rodon goes. I look for one of those guys to be very good and for Chicago to do enough against Garcia to get a win.
I like the White Sox as slight home favorites.
