Brandon Drury is having a stellar month at the plate, accumulating 15 RBIs and a .911 OPS. The 29-year-old third baseman is having a solid year, recording 22 RBIs and an .842 OPS. Drury did not play in Toronto on the weekend but should be playing in this series.
Cincinnati is scoring an average of 3.97 runs per game, ranking them 20th overall. The pitching staff has been the downfall of this team, posting a league worst 5.76 team ERA.
Vladimir Gutierrez will make his seventh start of the season in this one. Gutierrez had trouble again in his latest effort, surrendering four runs in only 4.2 innings against the Brewers, and was able to escape with the no-decision in a clash the Reds won. The young right-hander is struggling this season, posting an 8.65 ERA and a 1.96 WHIP accompanied by an 0-5 record in 26 innings.
