The Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros will be playing for the hardware after a pair of exciting Championship Series that each went 6 games.
The Braves got past the Dodgers in a rematch of the 2020 NLCS and Eddie Rosario took home the series MVP.
The Astros took out the Red Sox in a rematch of the 2018 ALCS and Yordan Alvarez hoisted the MVP trophy.
The schedule for the entirety of the World Series will be as follows:
October 26 & 27 – Games 1-2 in Houston
October 29, 30, 31 – Games 3-5 in Atlanta (Happy Halloween for game 5 if necessary)
November 2 & 3 – Games 6-7 back in Houston (If Necessary)
World Series 2021 Top-10 MVP Odds:
- Yordan Alvarez +900
- Jose Altuve +1000
- Freddie Freeman +1000
- Michael Brantley +1200
- Carlos Correa +1200
- Alex Bregman +1200
- Kyle Tucker +1400
- Max Fried +1600
- Eddie Rosario +1600
- Austin Riley +1800
As you can see, there are some decent betting options on either team to take the World Series and on whichever choice of MVP candidates.
The Braves have not been to the World Series since 1999 when they were swept in 4 games by the NY Yankees. Atlanta lost the 1996 World Series to those same Yankees but in 1995 the Braves won the title over Cleveland.
The Braves have only won a single Championship while playing in Atlanta as the 1957 win came in Milwaukee and the 1917 win came as the Boston Braves.
Atlanta is 7 – 3 in this year’s post-season and they really started to catch on fire around September 19 before the playoffs got underway. The Braves are 19 – 6 over the last 25 games and have won the last 4 NL East Division titles after an 88 – 73 record in the 2021 regular season.
Eddie Rosario tied an NLCS record driving in 14 RBI in only 6 games and he was the clear-cut favorite to take home the MVP of the series. Rosario slammed 3 homers and drove in 9 RBI from those record-tying 14 hits and 1.647 OPS <<< Ridiculous!
Freddie Freeman finally got his bat back after striking out 7 straight times to start the NLCS. Freeman had a monster 3-run shot in the clinching game and bashed 2 homers that each were huge in their own way.
In all honesty, when you look over the NLCS stats as a team it is amazing the Braves even won a damn game at all. Yes, I said that because outside of Freeman and Rosario there was a lot of shit ABs up and down this lineup. Travis D’Arnaud couldn’t hit his way out of a paper bag and we all know what happens when Soler or Camargo even go near a batter’s box. NADA!
Adam Duvall matches D’Arnaud’s 4 hits in the entire NLCS and Dansby Swanson had a whole 6 singles throughout the series.
While everyone wants to talk about the Pearls on Joc Pederson’s neck, the dude only had 5 hits in the entire NLCS. He and Austin Reilly basically one big hit each to even bother talking about, so to me this team is about to get manhandled by the Stros in 5 games.

The Astros have been here before but we all know the cheating scandal hasn’t gone away either. You can blast up and down social media pages everywhere with comments about how far they’ve gotten cheating again in 2021.
Well, we have no proof of that (Yet), so we can only hope this team is on the up and up this time around. That will also likely have ratings down again because of that incident although many people are rooting for Dusty Baker.
Dusty has not found his way to a ring in his long-time coaching career so that is, at least, one bright spot to talk about for purists out there. He is certainly an old-school dude in a sport with a lot of youth around him but there is plenty of experience on this team as well.
The Stros have earned only one title in franchise history and that obviously, has come during this recent run to 3 World Series appearances in 5 seasons. Houston lost the 2005 World Series to the White Sox in 4 games and also lost in 7 games in 2019 to the Washington Nationals.
The Astros won the AL Central Divison title with a 95 – 67 regular-season record and they are also 7 – 3 in the playoffs in 2021. Houston dismantled the White Sox in 4 games before taking out the Red Sox in 6 games to advance to the World Series.
Jose Altuve only had 3 hits in the entire ALCS but two of those hits were balls that went over the outfield walls.
Yordan Alvarez took home the ALCS MPV because of the 12 hits in 23 plate appearances with 6 RBI and 7 runs scored. Alvarez led the team with 33 regular-season homers and was the only Astro with over 100 RBI (104) entering the playoffs.
Alvarez was one of 4 Astros to hit 25+ homers during the year and as a team, they pounded out 122 bombs which were 9th overall in MLB.

Free Atlanta Braves vs. Houston Astros MLB World Series Prediction:
I like the Astros to take the 2021 World Series in 6 games and that is because the Braves know how to win at home. They’ll get three games in a row at home and that will make life tough for Houston. I originally thought 5 would be enough but the Astros will win this thing in front of their own fans when game 6 comes.
Also, my MVP vote goes to someone not even listed in the top 10. Yuri Gurriel gets my decision at +2500 to win the World Series MVP!
