The Atlanta Braves will look to take one step closer to that .500 mark this Thursday, as they take on the Cincinnati Reds at the Great American Ballpark where they will need to show up with some excellent pitching to slow down this elite Reds offense.

The Atlanta Braves feel like they should be better then their record would suggest, as they have a solid offense led by Ronald Acuna, and a pretty good pitching staff to go along with it. The main issue they have had though is injuries, as their starting rotation has taken yet another hit with Max Fried heading to the 10 day injured list which makes it 6 pitchers on the injury list.
That would end a lot of teams season, but this Braves team is very good and if they are able to get healthy and start rolling at the right time I can see them making some serious noise yet again come October.
The fact that there are so many injuries does make it a bit concerning that there is not starting pitcher being listed here, so it would be important to keep an eye out for who gets the call to the mound, as whoever gets the unenviable task of going against this Reds team will need to pitch extremely well to find success.
Cincinnati Reds
The Reds have found themselves going through a bit of a rough patch, as their offense comes down to Earth a little bit, but they should be in a good spot to have success here with the injuries to the pitching staff on the other end of the equation.
Unlike the Atlanta Braves the Reds do have a listed pitcher here with Tony Santillan getting the call to the mound and I can’t imagine that fills the organization with a lot of confidence, as his last start against the Padres was rough and his task gets no easier here against the Braves who have some sluggers of their own.
