Arizona Diamondbacks
Arizona is looking to stay right in this important division series.
They lost the opener 7-1 and were dominated by Clayton Kershaw, no shame in that. If they are going to be better over the weekend they are going to have to get after some other good pitchers.
Taijuan Walker was a key offseason acquisition as Arizona still tries to find enough pitching to compete. He can definitely miss some bats but has not gotten off to the kind of start Arizona was hoping for.
I also think wearing number 99 is not going to help him at all.
Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers are a good team but I do not believe in their ceiling the way some others do. When Kershaw is on the mound they look brilliant but who wouldn’t.
I keep thinking Justin Turner is going to turn back into a toad but it hasn’t happened yet.
He has been their best hitter so far.
For Rich Hill it is all about health. This is only his second start of the season but since coming to LA he has been fantastic, when they can get him onto the mound.
Pitching at home gives him an advantage, leveraging the park and a pretty underrated defensive club.
