Falcons 2021 Season Preview
Looking for 2021 Atlanta Falcons Predictions? The Falcons are coming off of a rough season, but their are reasons to be excited about this squad heading into the 2021 season, as they have shaken up the coaching staff and drafted one of the most exciting tight end prospects of all time in Kyle Pitts.
NFL Falcons Predictions & Handicapping Insight
2021/22 NFL Team Predictions – Atlanta Falcons
- Falcons 2021 Win Total NFL Odds: 7.5 (Over -130/Under +100)
- Atlanta Falcons NFC South Odds: +700
- Atlanta Falcons NFC Championship Odds: +2200
- Atlanta Falcons 2022 Super Bowl Odds: +5000
- TE Kyle Pitts
- RB Mike Davis
- G Jalen Mayfield
There really is not much to be said about Kyle Pitts, who seems like he was the one guy in the draft who simply can’t bust and with the departure of Julio Jones to the Tennessee Titans he will be counted on in a big way to help out with this offense. I fully expect him to be one of the league leaders in YAC, as Matt Ryan will need to get the ball out of his hands on shorter routes, as this offensive line is a problem.
Mike Davis was an important pickup, as the Falcons lost Todd Gurley and Ito Smith this past offseason leaving them no really options at the running back position. Davis was really good last year for the Panthers, as he took over for McCaffrey after the star back went down with an injury, and his pass catching skills will be very important in this offense as he should get plenty of targets on short routes out of the backfield.
Jalen Mayfield might end up being a very important signing, as Mayfield was taken in the 3rd round of this year’s draft by the Falcons and his versatility will be critical to keeping this offensive line respectable.
- WR Julio Jones
- C Alex Mack
- S Keanu Neal
Julio Jones will be a big loss, but I am not sure what the difference in Atlanta’s win total would be if Julio was still with the team, as he has had his injury problems over the last few seasons and the Falcons offense has looked pretty good even without him with Calvin Ridley sliding into the WR1 position without much issue.
Alex Mack was not the most talented center in the world, but this O-Line simply could not afford to lose a guy like that, as he was competent and extremely dependable, so it will be interesting to see how they go about replacing him.
2021 Atlanta Falcons Predictions: Offseason Analysis
It is really hard to project the Falcons to do well this year, as their defense is still a mess and it is hard to imagine how they protect Matt Ryan with the offensive line leaving a lot to be desired.
If some of the draft picks can make an immediate impact maybe they could fill some of their holes and make a playoff run, but that is highly unlikely and the Falcons will probably regret not drafting a QB come this next offseason.
2021 Atlanta Falcons Win Total Prediction:
It is not a pick I am in love with at -130, but I think the Falcons finish up 8-9 being aided by their offense, who will once again need to carry this team, as well as a weak schedule and the fact that they will finally have full crowds back in their home stadium where they are typically pretty good.
