Brewers 2019 Season Preview
Ready to check out our 2019 Milwaukee Brewers predictions? The Milwaukee Brewers won the NL Central last year and they’ll look to repeat this year. It won’t be easy as they play in the best division in baseball and their pitching staff is pretty bad.
MLB Brewers Predictions & Handicapping Insight
If the Brewers get to where they were last year their hitting will continue to carry this team and they’ll have to make a number of moves to help out the starters and bullpen.
2019 MLB Team Previews – Milwaukee Brewers
- Brewers National League Central Odds +230
- Brewers National League Odds +700
- Brewers World Series Odds +1400
- Yasmani Grandal
- Cory Spangenberg
- Jake Petricka
- Mike Moustakas
The Brewers didn’t make a ton of moves, but getting Mike Moustakas back is a high quality move. And despite his postseason, Yasmani Grandal is a quality catcher overall with a good bat.
- Stephen Vogt
- Curtis Granderson
- Gio Gonzalez
- Jonathan Schoop
2019 Milwaukee Brewers Predictions: Projected Lineup:
- CF Lorenzo Cain
- RF Christian Yelich
- LF Ryan Braun
- 3B Travis Shaw
- 1B Jesus Aguilar
- 2B Mike Moustakas
- C Yasmani Grandal
- SS Orlando Arcia
This is a strong lineup from top to bottom.
2019 Milwaukee Brewers Predictions: Projected Rotation:
- Brandon Woodruff
- Freddy Peralta
- Corbin Burnes
- Zach Davies
- Jhoulys Chacin
This is a pretty poor rotation. The Brewers need an arm or two to give them significant quality innings. Their rotation isn’t good and their bullpen won’t be as good as it was last year with multiple significant injuries already.
2019 Milwaukee Brewers Predictions: Projected Closer:
- Josh Hader
The Brewers had the best bullpen last year, but it was taxed and now they are paying the price. They still have Hader, but Knebel and Jeffress are hurt and will miss significant time.
The Brewers will have to somehow piece it together as the season progresses because right now their pitching just isn’t good enough.
2019 Milwaukee Brewers Predictions:
This is the best division in baseball as all five teams are above average teams. Obviously, there is a tier between the Brewers, Cubs, and Cardinals, but the Reds are an interesting dark horse and the Pirates aren’t exactly pushovers either.
So, in some ways, the Brewers are getting slighted and they’ll have a bit of a chip on their shoulder. Their lineup has plenty of firepower, but there pitching might keep them from taking that next step.
The bullpen they relied on so heavily last year isn’t the same this year. Josh Hader you have to expect will still be at the top of his game, but Corey Knebel and Jeremy Jeffress are hurt and will miss extended time.
With a tough division to contend with the Brewers might end up on the outside looking in when October comes around. I’ll say this, the NL Central race will be entertaining to watch.
