MLB Angels Predictions & Handicapping Insight
Coming off a playoff missing opportunity, Los Angeles will look to reclaim glory for the first time in over six years.
2018 MLB Team Previews – Los Angeles Angels
- American League West +190
- American League +1000
- World Series +2200
- Justin Upton
- Ian Kinsler
- Shohei Ohtani
The Los Angeles Angels had one of the biggest offseason compared to the other MLB teams as they went over seas to land superstar Shohei Ohtani. The duo pitcher and hitter will fix a huge hole in the Angels rotation and lineup as they need a big time left handed hitter.
As for Justin Upton and Ian Kinsler, the Angels locked them up for good as they have filled the remaining holes in the outfield and infield.
- IF Yunel Escobar
The Angels did not loss that much in the offseason as their only main loss was the batt of Escobar on the corner. However, Escobar did have a lot of fielding problems which masks his hitting power.
Angels Predictions: Projected Lineup:
- 2B Ian Kinsler
- CF Mike Trout
- LF Justin Upton
- DH Albert Pujols
- RF Kole Calhoun
- SS Andrelton Simmons
- 3B Zach Cozart
- 1B Luis Valbuena
- C Martin Maldonado
Welcome to the new and improved lineup of the Los Angeles Angels. Of course MVP Mike Trout will lead the way for the Angels, however new players Cozart, and Kinsler will get their shot of making some history in Los Angekes. The Angels are strong in power, but do not have a lot of left hander power.
Angels Predictions: Projected Rotation:
- RH Garrett Richards
- RH Shohei Ohtani
- RH J.C. Ramirez
- RH Matt Shoemaker
- LH Tyler Skaggs
If this rotation can stay healthy, the Angels could have one of the most improved rotations from the past year. Bringing in Ohtani will improve the Angels ten fold as Ramirez also is ready to prove why he is a Halo.
Angels Predictions: Projected Closer:
- RH Cam Bedrosian
One of the most underrated pitchers in the MLB, Cam is ready to lock in his role as the closer for the Angels.
Bedrosian has seen some highlights as a starter and coming out of the bullpen, however Cam has found his perfect role in this organization. Bedrosian can get the job done and could be one of the best closers come the end of the season.
2018 Los Angeles Angels Prediction:
The Los Angeles Angels might have a powerhouse team now that may cause some damage now in the AL West. It will be hard for them to overcome the defending champs in the West, however the Angels could sneak into a Wild Card spot and that is where I see them finishing on the season.
Trout will once again be the best player in the league, but the Angels will get a lot more help on the pitching side with the new signing overseas. It will not be a MVP type of season for Ohtani, however he will impress everybody in Los Angeles. Angels finish with a record of 88-74.
