College Football Handicapping: Week 6
Washington is coming off of their biggest win of the year against a BYU team that was actually supposed to put up a fight against the Huskies last weekend. Yes, the same BYU team that knocked off Wisconsin earlier in the year.
While UCLA continue on their downward slope, losing a game against Colorado by double digits on the road. This may be another ugly loss for the Bruins at home on Saturday.
#10 Washington Huskies
For the first time this season Washington looked dominant on both sides of the ball (against an FBS team at least) in their win against BYU last weekend at Husky Stadium in Seattle.
The defense has been the saving grace for this top 10 school early on in the season.
The Huskies will hope to get a repeat performance out of their offense, especially from QB Jake Browning. Browning became Washington’s all time leading passer last week, and we all know he’d love to run up the score to enshrine his name into Husky lore forever.
Washington’s defense has been stellar this season, only giving up more than a TD twice so far, and are averaging 11.6 points against.
This looks like a very favorable matchup against a Bruins team that is only scoring 17 points per game.
Bruins head coach Chip Kelly is finding out that it’s not easy trying to capture lightning in a bottle more than once in your lifetime. Before he left for the NFL, this guy was the second coming of Lou Holtz in the media’s eyes.
Several years later, a new town and a new team have Chip’s UCLA fans wanting him to go back to the drawing board.
He’s already had a QB quit on him (Devon Modster transferred away from UCLA), and now the hometown faithful are wishing for him to bench his starting QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
Might not be a bad idea for a team averaging less than 20 pts a game.
But the Bruins offense isn’t the only thing struggling this year. The defense is giving up an average of 37.8 points a game! Not good news when you have the number 10 team in the country coming in to town who is averaging a decent 28.8 points a game on the year.
This could be a long afternoon for the Bruins.

Free Week 6 NCAA Football Pick
The Huskies should win this game no problem, but, life in the Pac-12 is strange sometimes. The O/U hasn’t been released yet, so I can’t give a good read on that, but if the trends are correct, I would probably stick to that.
The Huskies aren’t going to score 60, but they may score 35 and hold the Bruins to 7.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Washington -21. Free ATS or O/U final score pick provided below!
To be safe, go with Washington to cover the spread. I just don’t see their defense giving up that many points to UCLA.
This would be the upset of the year in the Pac-12 if the Bruins were to pull it out, not saying it can’t happen, but it’s highly unlikely that it will happen. Washington will win this one and cover the spread.
