The Wyoming Cowboys will be without first-round NFL Draft pick quarterback Josh Allen as they look to head onto the new season with a new leader.
2018 Wyoming Cowboys Predictions: Team Strengths
The Cowboys Defense: Even though last year, the offense got a lot of love from the media because of quarterback Josh Allen, the true winners were members of the defensive squad. Heading into the 2018 season, they will welcome back eight starters that led the nation in turnovers.
Those 41 turnovers were a nation high and it was put on showcase as they had to take the ball away eight times in their bowl win.
The fun does not stop there one bit. The defense also only allowed 17.5 points per game as they are hoping to drop it below 15 for the new season.

One of the biggest reasons why they have one of the top defenses in the MWC is from the pair in the back of Andrew Wingard and Marcus Epps who track down the ball so well.
2018 Wyoming Cowboys Team Weaknesses:
No More Josh Allen: The Cowboys will no longer have a first round draft selection quarterback under center as they have a wide arrange of options for the upcoming season.
First, let’s take a look at Senior Nick Smith who has the upper hand right now. He comes into the season with only having four starts with two of those coming last season with the injury to Allen in 2017.
Vander Waal has the size and skill set the coaches like. Vander Waal left spring practice with a lead over Smith in the battle to replace Allen.

However there is also the young gun redshirt freshmen who has the bigger size to him. Welcome Vander Wall who comes into the new season with possible a better all around option, but he is not experienced with the Cowboys.
Wyoming Cowboys Prediction: 8-5
Everybody was hot on quarterback Josh Allen, but he had an average season to say the least. I love this Wyoming defense and they are the ones who back this prediction 100 percent.
They will still be able to compete for the title, but I can expect a bowl game win for the Cowboys.

However they can go even further than that if they can get an excellent season either from the senior quarterback or the hot-shot freshmen.
