Welcome to Hawaii Corey Batoon: It really does hurt to write this, but the Rainbow Warriors at the moment do not have a lot of team strengths. Even this strength is a maybe as they welcome new defensive coordinator Corey Batoon who was at Florida Atlantic the year before.

Batoon did bring some new assistants on the defensive side of the ball as well as now the Rainbow Warriors will have some new tips and tricks to work with.

Bartoon will most likely make his defense around the second-team All Mountain West selection linebacker Jahlani Tavai who recorded 124 tackles including 5.5 sacks. He is the clear leader on the defensive side of the play along with corner Solomon Matautia who had three intreceptions last season.

Who is the Quarterback?: With quarterback Dru Brown taking his talents over to Oklahoma State, there is a big question mark at the moment. At the moment, the front runner will be Cole McDonald who has been with the team for a year, but has only thrown nine passes.

However there will be a huge quarterback competition as freshmen Chevan Cordeiro is creating some noise as he is coming from the top high school from Honolulu.

There are also transfers of Jeremy Moussa and Kolney Cassel who will also get a chance.

Goodbye Number One Option: With the number one quarterback leaving, so did the top wide receiver. Dylan Collie also packed up his bags as he transferred to BYU as now the Warriors do not have a clear leading QB or WR.

The next man up for the job is John Ursua, but he is still recovering from an knee injury that sidelined him for most of last season.

Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Predictions Prediction: 2-10

This is going to be a very ugly season for the Rainbow Warriors as this is a whole new team. It is going to take quite some time for this team to gel as well.

The Warriors have yet to have a winning season for a long time for a reason. Their defense has yet to hit the Top 100 as they are getting torched right now.

Defensive coordinator Bartoon will have a tough challenge, but he does help them advance in the future.
