2015 NFL Football – Seahawks Analysis

The Seattle Seahawks will begin the quest for a third straight NFC crown September 13 with the bitterness of a last-second Super Bowl blunder likely still fresh in their minds.

As the best team on the planet the last couple of years Seattle will enter this season as one of the favorites again – the draft was good for Seattle and the acquisition of Jimmy Graham was one of the more exciting preseason moves by any team in the league.

So where do we see the Hawks finishing this upcoming season?

[dfads params=’groups=63753&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Here is a breakdown of every game on their slate and a thought on Vegas’ win total.

Week 1: Sunday, Sept. 13, at St. Louis, 1 PM

The Rams look poised to be Seattle’s biggest competition in the NFC West right now and the Hawks did lose in St. Louis last year. But this is a good spot for the Hawks – they are going to want to come out strong and they get to face Nick Foles in his debut with the Rams. Foles struggled in Phili. when he had weapons – imagine what he is going to look like with St. Louis’s weak offense. This should be an easy win for Seattle.

Week 2: Sunday, Sept. 20 at Green Bay, 8:30 PM

Green Bay on the road – a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship game – the Pack realistically deserved to win that game. Karma and a superb Green Bay team at Lambeau in a game that the Pack will be looking forward to has Seattle fall to .500.

Week 3: Sunday, Sept. 27 Chicago, 4:25 PM

The home opener comes against an inferior opponent. This has blowout written all over it.

Week 4: Monday, Oct. 5, Detroit, 8:15 PM

Prime time game. The Lions regressed with the departures on defense and with a mistake prone Lions offense; you have to think Seattle dominates here. 3-1 after 4 weeks looks good on the Seahawks.

Week 5: Sunday, Oct. 11, at Cincinnati, 1 PM

This is an interesting spot – on a short week the Hawks travel to Cincinnati to take on a rugged Bengals squad in a 10AM PT start. Seattle hasn’t been a tremendous road team particularly in early starts.

[dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Off a short week, I predict them to be in some trouble here.

Week 6: Sunday, Oct. 18, Carolina, 4:05 PM

A rematch of the playoff game at Seattle last season – expect the result to be similar. Seattle simply looks like the better team and will be incredible on home turf once again.

Week 7: Thursday, Oct. 22, at San Francisco, 8:25 PM

San Francisco looks poised to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this upcoming season – seriously! The Niners simply aren’t in Seattle’s league anymore – shame! After seven weeks look for the Hawks to be a comfortable 5-2.

Week 8: Sunday, Nov. 1, at Dallas, 4:25 PM

Dallas could be very good or very bad this upcoming season – the loss of DeMarco Murray could loom large. Added pressure will be on Tony Romo this upcoming season and we all know what happens when a team relies of Mr. Romo too much! Look for a Seattle win here.

Week 9: Bye

Week 10: Sunday, Nov. 15, Arizona, 8:30 PM

Hugely important game in Week 10 against a team that could push Seattle in the NFC West. Seattle will be coming off a bye and will have an extra week to prepare. Prime time always favors the Hawks who should take care of business in a physical clash in the desert.

Week 11: Sunday, Nov. 22, San Francisco, 4:25 PM

The 49ers may already be looking toward next season by Week 11. This is a mismatch for sure!

Week 12: Sunday, Nov. 29, Pittsburgh, 4:25 PM

Third straight home game for Seattle – the Hawks should be able to maintain their CenturyLink dominance. It is difficult to fathom Seattle losing at home as per usual this upcoming season.

Week 13: Sunday, Dec. 6, at Minnesota, 1 PM

Another 10AM PT. start for Seattle but against a team that doesn’t match up on either side of the ball. By Week 13, teams will already be ramping up for the playoffs – the prize will already be in Seattle’s sights. I can’t imagine Pete Carroll allowing this team to take their foot off the pedal.

Week 14: Sunday, Dec. 13, at Baltimore, 8:30 PM

The second of back-to-back road games come in Baltimore against a Ravens team that always comes on toward the end of the season. Seattle has never won in Baltimore – I expect a hiccup in Week 14 and for the winless trend in Baltimore to continue.

Week 15: Sunday, Dec. 20, Cleveland, 4:05 PM

A home game against Cleveland during what is sure to be a battle for playoff positioning in the NFC?

[dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

This should be an easy win for Seattle.

Week 16: Sunday, Dec. 27, St. Louis, 4:25 PM

This looks on paper as though it could be one of the more interesting games on the schedule, depending on where the Rams sit in the standings. My guess s that St. Louis is battling for a playoff spot and that they make things interesting for Seattle. But a win for the Rams at CenturyLink is just too hard to imagine.

Week 17: Sunday, Jan. 3, at Arizona, 4:25 PM

Ahhh, the culmination of a long season. Two playoff bound teams do battle on the last Sunday of action. I like a more desperate Cardinals team to emerge here – by Week 17 Seattle should have the division sewn up while the Cards have a ton of work to do. Seattle’s studs may see limited action giving Arizona a huge leg up.

Sooooo – where does that put Seattle at season’s end? By my count they should up 12-4, with another NFC West crown and with a ton of expected hype as they enter the playoffs.

2015 Seahawks NFL Prediction

Don’t expect a step back for the Hawks in 2015 – the 11 win total Vegas has set for them is attainable for sure – Seattle should go undefeated at home and .500 on the road.

Seattle should be on a path for another NFC crown and after last year’s disappointment in the playoffs, don’t be surprised to see karma pay this team back and for Russell Wilson to be hoisting his second Lombardi trophy in three years.
