Cougars vs. Knights Gameday
The bloom has fallen for Houston now that they have a couple of losses. Their margin for error for anything significant is nil at this point.
As for UCF, they have some work to do if they want to get bolw eligible this season. If that is even really a motivator for teams anymore.
I kind of miss the days when the “Black Knights” were an outsider and punched above their weight. We have not seen that in a while.
Houston is hoping their success does not push their coach into a better situation, with so many of those around.
Houston Cougars
Last week was not a good look for the Cougars, losing by 10 points at home despite being a double-digit favorite.
It was a classic case of not being able to stop the run and losing the turnover battle. This is a solid team but they are not strong enough to overcome that, even against a team like West Virginia.
Houston is 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS on the road this season. This one is going to be about mental fortitude as much as talent and schematics.

Houston Cougars Stats
Houston has a 7-2 overall record and a 4-2 record in Big 12 conference play through their first nine games.
The offense averages 29.4 points per game, while the defense has been solid, limiting opponents to 21.6 points per contest.
The team has demonstrated a balanced attack, averaging 222.0 passing yards and 161.3 rushing yards per game.
Quarterback Conner Weigman has been productive, throwing for 1,890 yards and 16 touchdowns while also adding nine rushing touchdowns.
Running back Dean Connors leads the ground game with 657 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns, complemented by 157 receiving yards.
In the receiving corps, Amare Thomas stands out as the primary target, tallying 634 receiving yards and a team-high seven receiving touchdowns.
UCF Knights
Head coach Scott Frost is back at UCF but things are a little different. This is no longer a juggernaut program that even the bog boys do not want to play.
Last week was their worst loss of the season, a 30-3 defeat against Baylor. They have just one win in Big 12 play this year, ironically against the West Virginia team that just took down Houston.
Quarterback Tayven Jackson has not given them the boost they were hoping for after transfering from Indiana. The passing attack is light, allowing teams to gang up on the run.
The UCF defense is giving up less than 20ppg, but when the offense doesn’t score, they are being put in tough spots.
UCF Knights Stats
🏈 2025 UCF Knights Football Season Snapshot
The 2025 UCF Knights are4-4 overall record through eight games, but just 1-4 in Big 12 Conference play.
The team has an unexpectedly formidable defense, allowing just 18.8 points per game and 307.8 total yards per game.
The defense has been particularly stingy against the pass, holding opponents to an impressive 161.4 passing yards per game.
However, the offense, which averages 27.3 points per game, has struggled to find consistency, particularly in third-down conversions, where their 32.7% success rate is among the lowest in the nation.
On offense, the Knights rely on a solid rushing attack, which churns out 191.4 rushing yards per game.
Running back Myles Montgomery leads the way on the ground with 572 rushing yards on a 5.1 yard-per-carry average, while fellow back Jaden Nixon adds a punch with six rushing touchdowns.
Quarterback Tayven Jackson has thrown for 1,334 yards and five touchdowns, but the passing game has been less explosive overall.

4* Free Houston Cougars vs. UCF Knights 2025 Week 11 NCAA Betting Prediction: Houston ML
There is obviously action on this Friday night tilt with the spread and moneylines showing different favorites.
The offense just isn’t there and I would expect lots of bettors are putting this game into their teasers given that we are on the key number right now.
I like Houston on the road to win. Even though they have showed some holes lately, they are well coached and by far the better team, in my opinion.
UCF is not going to roll over but if they get down early, which I expect, they are not in a great spot to come back. The line is small so freel free to take the points of course. Just keeping this one simple.
