The Razorbacks will already be facing tough times as they get set to host the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Week 3.
Arkansas looked absolutely abysmal at home last week as they dropped a decision to Toledo 16-12.
As for the Red Raiders, they haven’t really been tested as they’ve played to weak FCS schools, but the offense looked on point and flawless at times during both games.
A solid resume building win is on the line here as both teams can grab a win over a power conference opponent on Saturday.
It’s extremely hard to find a negative within the Red Raiders offense 2 weeks into the season.
Texas Tech has scored 59 and 69 points in their first two games and have the pass game back to what looks like it’s old form. Last week, QB Patrick Mahomes tossed 4 touchdown passes and 361 yards in their blowout win over UTEP.
Mahomes has actually thrown for 4 touchdowns in both Red Raiders’ games this year.
When looking at the negative side of things for Texas Tech, it has to be their defense, as always. While their defense did improve last week, they allowed FCS opponent Sam Houston State to score 45 points and rack up 637 total yards in Week 1.
The defense looked better last week allowing UTEP to score only 20 points. Sam Houston State and UTEP are completely different styles of offense as Sam Houston State passes and UTEP runs.
How things can change in just 1 week. In their opening game of the season, Arkansas looked like they were going to be a force within the SEC.
They routed UTEP 48-13 as they ran up nearly 500 yards of offense. In the contest, QB Brandon Allen threw for 4 touchdown passes and 308 yards and looked incredibly poised and dominant.
RB Alex Collins rushed for 182 yards and added two touchdowns.
However, that didn’t hold to form last week. As 23 point home favorites, the Arkansas Razorbacks flopped offensively only managing 12 points as they dropped the game 16-12 to Toledo.
Allen became flustered early and continued to over throw his receivers while getting pressured numerous times.
RB Alex Collins got zero push from his offensive line and just didn’t have the playmaking abilities he had in Week 1.

Arkansas has to be licking their chops ready to get back on the field. While Texas Tech isn’t a push over, their defense is just too sketchy to trust here.
