The Tampa Bay Lightning are beginning to resemble the team that matched an NHL record with 62 wins last season and their form will be severely tested over the next two games, starting with a matchup against the visiting St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night.
The Blues have cooled off a bit since their season-high seven-game winning streak that started in late October, losing five of the last seven contests (2-2-3) after Monday’s 3-2 shootout setback at Nashville.
This will still be a great game between two of the best teams in the NHL and I cannot wait for this game to start.

It is equally as interesting to preview this game from a betting perspective as there is a lot to cover. Stay tuned to find our winning prediction at the bottom of the article.
St. Louis Blues
With regular forwards Vladimir Tarasenko, Sammy Blais and Alexander Steen out because of injuries, others must step up and 20-year-old Robert Thomas has done so by producing five assists and plus-5 rating in his last four games.
The Blues continue to get strong goaltending. Jordan Binnington (11-4-4, 2.23 goals-against average, .926 save percentage) stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced to beat Tampa Bay last week and boasts a .960 SP over his past three starts.
Any thought of Binnington being a one-hit-wonder seems to be disappearing quickly.
Blues D Robert Bortuzzo will serve the second contest of a four-game suspension for his illegal cross-check on Nashville’s Viktor Arvidsson.

Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning, who visit Washington on Friday, have won three in a row and six of their last eight contests after knocking off Buffalo 5-2 on Monday.
One of the losses during the Lightning’s resurgence came at reigning Stanley Cup champion St. Louis on Nov. 19 and the Blues have won the last three meetings, including a 1-0 overtime triumph in Tampa Bay last season.
A resurging Ondrej Palat has been a key factor in the Lightning success as of late. Left-wing Ondrej Palat has already matched his goal output from a disappointing 2018-19 season after scoring once and setting up two others Monday.
Steven Stamkos may be injured for this game and that certainly is a situation that needs to be monitored.
Starting in goal for the Tampa Bay Lightning will likely be Andrei Vasilevsky. His stats on the season are: 9-6-0 W-L | 2.82 GAA | 0.91 SV% | 0 SO

Free St. Louis Blues vs. Tampa Bay Lightning NHL Prediction:
I like the Blues in this one, they’ve been the better team in the head to head matchups as of late. Binnington is playing good and the Bolts could be without Steven Stamkos.
