Dallas went into Philadelphia in Week 16 with a chance to clinch the NFC East Division Title.
But while the offense might have been in Philly in person, it wasn’t there in any other form. The Eagles won, 17–9, and now Dallas needs to win and get help in regular season’s final week to get into the playoffs.

The Redskins shouldn’t pose much of a problem to that first task. They fell to 3–12 with an overtime loss to the Giants in Week 16.
Washington Redskins
There likely weren’t many seasonal fantasy football squads with Saquon Barkley on them in the Week 16 championship matchups but for the ones that did have him, he delivered when it mattered most after a bit of a disappointing season as a top pick in preseason drafts.
Barkley ran for 189 yards and caught another four passes for ninety yards in a 41–35 overtime victory over Washington last week. He scored as a runner and he scored as a receiver in racking up a huge fantasy day.
Then there was Daniel Jones, who only threw for 352 and five touchdowns without an interception, his third game this season with four TDs and no interceptions, which is a Giants’ team record, and his first with five.
Dwayne Haskins Jr. got hurt and was replaced by Case Keenum after starting twelve of fifteen for two touchdowns. Then there was an alleged issue where Redskins’ owner Dan Snyder told Haskins not to go back into the game after the rookie reportedly said he was ok to return.
Who knows who will start for Washington in this one.
Dallas Cowboys
The Giants will be the Eagles’ Week 17 opponent and the game is in the Meadowlands. The Eagles are rightful favorites but at least the Giants are in a good enough form to win on the road, albeit against the Redskins.
After the loss in Week 16 in which Dak Prescott threw nineteen incompletions and Zeke Elliott had just forty-three yards on thirteen carries, Dallas can get into the playoffs only with a win and a Philadelphia loss in New Jersey.
Both teams will finish 8–8, having each won against the other at home, but the Cowboys will have the better win-loss record within the division.
Dallas had won its first four against the weakest division in football before Sunday’s loss in Philadelphia.
The Eagles, who have played nothing but divisional opponents since Week 14 (and are 3–0), have only lost the one in Dallas. The second would be in New York, if the Giants have it in for them at the end of the race.
Both this game and Philadelphia at New York kick-off at 1 pm.
