The Tennessee Titans will travel to Houston to face their inter-divisional foes to wrap up their 2020 season. The Titans will enter coming off an ugly 40-14 Sunday Night loss at the Green Bay Packers in a snowstorm. The team is currently sitting in the 4th seed for the playoffs and in control of their own destiny as a win Sunday will crown Tennessee as the AFC South Champions for the first time since 2008. With a loss they will still have a chance to win the division if Indianapolis loses to the Jaguars, but that seems unlikely as Jacksonville is an abysmal 1-14 on the season and are already looking forward to the April draft and what to do with their #1 selection.
The Houston Texans enter after suffering a shootout home loss last week to the Bengals and the hands of Brandon Allen. Houston will try to wrap up their massive disappointment of a season on a high note and build on any sort of momentum going into next year.
This game will play no impact on Houston’s draft positioning as the Texans already dealt their 2021 first-round selection to the Dolphins which is currently sitting as the #4 pick.
The Titans are in a favorable matchup this game as road favorites facing a Texans team will little motivation left entering the final week of the season.
Tennessee Titans
Tennessee has been a frustratingly inconsistent team this season as they have piled up impressive wins as well as embarrassing losses. The Titans have been led offensively all year as Ryan Tannehill has continued to fit the teams scheme perfectly in his first full season under helm. Derrick Henry has posted another monster year and is only 223 yards short of a 2,000 yard rushing season which has only been accomplished 7 times in history.
Houston Texans
Houston finds itself in line with the rest of the country as 2020 being a year full of struggles and one to forget. From head scratching offseason moves by former GM and Head Coach Bill O’Brien to an array of starters being lost to injury or PED suspension. Deshaun Watson was injured late in the week 16 loss to the Bengals but is reported to be available to play in the season finale. It will be interesting to see how much he has have left in the tank after what has been a highly demanding season for him in order to keep the Texans from going under.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Titans -7.5
The last time these two teams met it was in shootout fashion in Nashville as Tennessee stormed back late in the fourth quarter and scored with seconds left in regulation and then marched down the field on the legs of Derrick Henry who scored the game-winner in overtime.
That game took place in week 5 and both teams have went through numerous roster changes due to injury and depth chart repositioning.
In week 17 don’t expect a repeat of their previous matchup. There is no chance Tennessee comes into this game without a sense of urgency and keeps this game close. Last week they dropped a game in embarrassing fashion but luckily still control their fate and will not make the same mistake twice.
Mike Vrabel will have his team motivated and focused on the goal ahead which is securing the win and the AFC South title for a crucial home-field advantage in the Wild Card playoffs.
