The first day of Wild Card weekend will end with a matchup between Tampa Bay and Washington. This game will be hosted by Washington because they won the terrible NFC East on the final day of the regular season.
The Bucs are the first Wild Card team this season (5th seed) after failing to win their division. They still have Tom Brady heading into the playoffs, so you have to like their chances to make a run.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs easily breezed past the Atlanta Falcons in week 17, beating them 44-27. Brady was nearly unstoppable, throwing for 399 yards and four touchdowns. He also threw an interception, but it really did not make a difference. Tampa Bay did only have 94 rushing yards, so that could be a concern heading into the playoffs.
One guy to look for in this game is Antonio Brown. He is coming off a 138 yard receiving effort, catching two touchdowns in the process. Chris Godwin also had 133 yards receiving and two touchdowns as well. This is helpful because Mike Evans got hurt this past Sunday and his status will likely be questionable. The Bucs are a top 10 offense, a top 2 passing offense and a top 3 scoring offense.
Defensively, the Bucs are probably going to be fine in this game. They allowed 385 total yards to Atlanta, but are overall the 6th best defense in terms of total yards. They are the best team in the NFL against the run, but struggle against the pass.
Washington Football Team
Washington beat Philadelphia this past Sunday night to ensure their spot in the playoffs. They fact that they get to host a game is crazy because Washington is not a good team. For starters, they have a losing record. That about sums up the NFC East division.
Quarterback, Alex Smith threw for just 162 yards and I do not think he is going to perform well here either. Maybe he will be able to throw for a couple touchdowns, but it will be hard for him to keep up with Brady. The Washington offense ranks 30th overall, 25th in passing and 26th in rushing. They do not score a ton of points either.
The Washington defense has good numbers, but I do not believe they will be able to slow down Brady. It is impressive that they are the 2nd overall defense, and 2nd against the pass, but Brady in the playoffs is just different.

I think we are going to see the Bucs prove they are a team to beat and will score aa ton of points here. Tampa Bay has shown some inconsistencies defending the pass, so I do see Washington being able to score some points.
