The Buccaneers will try to lengthen their lead on the top wild-card spot with a win over the Falcons on Sunday. Atlanta is coming off a loss to the Chargers thanks to a last-second interception, while the Bucs defeated the Vikings.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look to add another notch to their 8-5 belt after picking up a 26-14 win over Minnesota last time out.
After losing three of four Tom Brady looks like he has righted the ship on this offense and got his Bucs team back in a playoff spot. Brady has thrown for 3,496 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions on 64.8% passing this season. He is 4th in the league in passing touchdowns with those 30 and 10th in the league in passing yards. Age is but a number for Tom Brady as he is still performing very well.
Ronald Jones II leads the Bucs in rushing with 900 rushing yards and has 6 TDs. It looks like he will take the bulk of the carries for the rest of the season as Leonard Fournette was seemingly a healthy scratch last week against the Vikings and his status is questionable for this game.

On defense, Devin White leads the Bucs with 118 total tackles including a team-high 77 solo tackles to go along with 5 sacks. Jason Pierre-Paul has a team-high 9.5 sacks and Shaquil Barrett is not too far behind him with 8.0 sacks this season. Overall, the Bucs have the 11th ranked defense as they surrender 22.6 points per game. They have the best rushing defense in the league allowing just 80.1 rushing yards per game this season. On the other hand, they have struggled against the pass at times as they allow 249.5 yards through the air per game which is 21st in the league.
Atlanta Falcons
Falcons will look to bounce back after suffering a brutal loss against the Chargers on Sunday. Atlanta picked off Justin Herbert in the final minute of the game to set themselves up for a field goal if they could reach Younghoe Koo’s range. Unfortunately for the Falcons, Matt Ryan threw an interception himself on the next play to allow the Chargers a chance at a game-winning field goal.
Matt Ryan’s time in Atlanta might be coming to an end sooner than expected if things don’t turn around fast for the Falcons in the next year. Ryan is having his worse year statistically since 2014 and the team went 6-10 that season. He is completing passes at just 63.7% and that is his lowest mark since 2011. This season he has thrown for 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions to go along with 3660 passing yards.
Todd Gurley II leads Atlanta in rushing with 645 rushing yards. He is tied for fourth in the league in rushing touchdowns with nine this season for the Birds.
Defensively, Foyesade Oluokun leads the Falcons with 97 total tackles including a team-high 66 solo tackles. The Falcons allow opponents to score 24.8 points per game which is 16th in the league.
